Estella - For summer whites, try New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs and German Rieslings. The Riesling would be a better "drink on its own" wine, but the Sauvignon Blancs are great with lighter meals like grilled chicken, etc.

chateau neuf du pape, domaine du brenard, point finale..... nothing even comes close to this gem. cant get it in canada, but whenever my family or friends go over to europe i get them to bring me back a few bottles. the one form of chateau neuf du pape you can gget in canada is in taht deformed dusty bottle and actually comes form uzes not chateau neuf du pape. its good but nothing compared to the real deal.


as for not so expensive wines, i drink alot of masi valpolicella, that stuff just hits the spot.

yeah, im having trouble finding one. Thus far that one is my #1. THing is, i want something with a great decorative look, but isn't $400 fukin bucks

anywayz, the wine rack holds 36 bottles, which is a pretty good number for a beginner like me.......i plan on filling it up completely in 2years im hoping.

buy 2 bottles, drink one/save one

I hate red wine, and... I don't really like white wine either... so I don't know any companies that are that good, but I've heard of famous ones here in Puerto Rico... not sure if there Puerto Rican... I don't we make wine, but we make Sangría and Bacardi's Puertorican I think, along with Don Q rum. Medalla's made here too, but I don't know if tha's exported... wait this thread is about wine not beer and rum... uhh... I dunno, some of that australian white wine with a kangaroo on it. I could ask my friend's dad though, he's a wine conosseur and I think the crazy bastard bought a $10,000 bottle once.

I've gone through a reverse collection phase recently, I realised that I had many 8-10 year old wines waiting for a suitable occaison and never getting drunk. good wine should be enjoyed, so that's what I did.

Best bit of advise I ever got was when I was living in the hunter valley in aus. It has nothing but coal mines and vineyards. One of the miners told me that the most important bit of wine knowledge you can have is that you like this wine better than that.
Being able to describe what you like helps, same as being able to describe elements of music, but what matters most is that you enjoy it.

A lot of places give you a case discount, even for mixed cases, of between 10 and 20%. That's usually the route I go, and if you mix, you have variety on what you want to drink.

im not rich, but i would like to collect my favorite wine's.......that and wine that is rare.

It's your run-of-the-mill, "oh i think they'll like it", let's put a cork in it, ship it out, and to hell with quality- kind of wine. hehe Anywayz, in other news I have recently placed an order for 6 bottles from Spain: Coto de Imaz, Rioja (2000 Reserva) And I'm very exicted.... they just arrived. oh thats the kind of wine rack u wanted. See i wouldvt sent u one but the wine racks i sell get mounted on the wall & blend in with your kitchen cabinets and/or bar.

if you're going to collect really good wines, and keep them more than a year or two, you might be better off investing in a proper wine cabinet. Especially so if it gets warm where you live in summer, hot days, cool nights can lead to air getting through the cork. Nothing worse than waiting years to open a good wine and finding it corked.

yeah i thought about that, and the shitty thing is im a poor kid lol

like, ok....im in the process of finding a good job, but still.....for now, the wine id be collecting would mainly be really tasty wine.....nothing totally old.

once i start my real co-ray-zee collection ill have to get one of those costly fridges that keeps the temp. leveled at all times.

i thought about putting a fan by the wine rack on really hot days, but im not sure how well that would work

it's a bitch, really.....

i have this insane aspiration to be a collector, but my funds aren't up to the level yet.

so what do you recommend putting into a 36 bottle wine rack?

table wine? wine im going to drink within the year?


oh and Johnny boy, how much would your shit cost and how many bottles max/min can it hold?
