I couldn't agree more with everyone. Young producers with a downloaded program like reason/fruity loops is killing trance and making it for internet radio instead of innovative music for the live scene. People like Jonas Steur, Mike Foyle, Arksun, Leon Boiler, Ozgur Can, Menno de Jong, DJ Shah, and Alex Stealthy, all obscure bedroom producers that have become popular in the last 2 years(as far as I know) are for some reason influencing John O'Callaghan, M.I.K.E., Kyau vs Albert, Matthew Dekay, and other established producers to create the same sounding singles. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the individual tracks that some of these people put out but when it is followed by 3 more tracks that sound almost identical only with a note changed here and there it is extremely boring music to listen to.
I don't mind these artists having break out tunes but when they then create 4 more tunes that have the same structure and piano/plinky sounds as their first song they need to be forgotten by the trance community not glorified on internet radio stations.
ISOS5 and ASOT2006 are perfect examples of this type of sound on their second cds. The majority of these tunes are sooo similiar to one another that the cds become background noise and the listener stops paying attention. I do like these cds but I don't like these cds as much as older ones that I own because on those you are surprised and energized when an awesome song starts to mix in and a new sound just crashes in making you throw your hands up with the beat. The energy dies when all tunes sound similiar and it is making trance boring for the listener.
edit: it's amazing to see how many of these amateur producers visit the ASOT irc room to wait until their track is played. This to me is a perfect example of amateurs that are producing tracks to be heard on the net.
