01. Paula Cole - Where Have All The Cowboys Gone? (E-Team Drugstore Cowboy Remix)
good god - and i actually bought this as a cd single many years ago as my girlfriend and i were on a paula cole kick for a few months in like '97.

02. Hierolglyphics - You'll Never Know (Dom Remix)
i've always been an east coast head, but the hiero crew were always quality. this remix is bananas.

03. Rottin Rascals - Oh Yeah
forgot i had this... one hit wonders from 1995. best thing about this song was the opening part of the video as the dude raps while handcuffed and face-down on the hood of a police car... "what's the problem officer, i ain't be did nothin'."

04. Propylon - Exile
solid tune by Jonas Steur.

05. Weezer ft. Speed Levitch - Undone (The Sweater Song) (Live Radio Edit)
always had a love/hate relationship with weezer as i can't stand rivers cuomo; like this song quite a bit tho. speed levitch is a nyc tourguide/urban poet/weirdo extraordinairre.

06. The Deadkirks - Mr. Kirk, Your Son Is Dead
another ancient tune - silly but i like it. don't do drugs kids.

07. Bounty Killa - Nitro Mix
this is a dj cut from the series "strictly the best, vol. 17" - anyone who buys this series should only shop the odd numbers of the series as the even ones tend to be less good...

08. Sundawner - Krystal Dreams (Marcus L Remix)
a nice but disposable release by matti laamanen on monster. this tune always makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

09. Nikos Kourkoulis - Mia Nyxta Ston Paradeiso
greek music =)

10. Nas - I Know I Can
nice little tune has nas dispensing life advice to the kiddies; i liked slick rick's "hey young world" a lot better...

01: Icons - Feel

Trance from 1993, released on Labworks Germany. Great mid-set track if you're playing this type of music. Acid isn't the main element in this track though, as only the bassline and some subtle background elements are run by the 303.

02: Spooky - Belong (Echospace Mix)

What can I say, this is the best version of this beautiful track. My favorite part is about 2/3 into the track I guess, when the piano comes in.

03: Suzuki L.T.D. - Drop Zone

More trance, this time from 1995, with an acid buildup. Nothing too overblown though, just nice atmospherics.

04: Coil - The Anal Staircase

Industrial classic, love the lyrics.

05: Drax - Outdoor Excursions

Old school Heckmann here, giving an alternative to his trance/rave classics "Amphetamine" and "Phosphene". Slow, acid breakbeat track with a great melody.

This is what my randomizer had to choose from:

I might do more later.

1. Agnelli & Nelson - Slide (Original Mix)
Hadn't heard this in some time. Sounds like it should be the themesong for some 80s TV action/drama.

2. Jacques Ibert - Concertino da Camera (Animato Molto)
As the name suggests, the fast part of Jacques Ibert's piece. I used to play a lot of classical alto saxophone and this is from my collection of saxophone concertos. I used to have a part for this and I remember trying to play it feverishly.

3. Dannii Minogue - Put The Needle On It (Laid's Zoo Brazil Remix)
Love Zoo Brazil, don't love this track. I bet it would go over well if I played it at my university however.

4. 8 Wonders - 8th Wonder (Original Mix)
Always will like 8th wonder. Just a great trance groove that keeps rolling without being pretentious, arrogant, or melodramatic. I prefer the Espene and Stian remix.

5. Luke Chable Presents Quest - Air
Don't really like this track very much. A bit pretentious, I tend to prefer dance music meant to make your body move, not your brain.

6. Kaskade - Everything (Kaskade's Big Room Mix)
Ouch, this game is brutal. Kaskade came to Cleveland last year and I wanted to hear what the act sounded like. I didn't go.

7. Sasha - Xpander (Original Mix)
among all-time favorites...enough said.

8. Beam vs. Cyrus - Lifestyle (Original Mix)
Can't listen to this stuff anymore, but I used to back when it came out.

9. Jasefos feat. Claire Sky - Do What You Want (Max Graham Afterhours in Montreal Mix)
Nice deep prog, vocals remind of 90s pop though, not my thing.

10. Vascotia - Verano (Resolution Remix)
Bland uplifting trance with pads so fat they sound like white noise. But I'm not going to say it was never in my car and I never got crazy and bounced around when it was playing.

11. Fred Baker - Total Blackout (Original Mix)
This is painful for me to listen to. It is the epitome of the decadence that has become club dance music. My friend who enjoys this stuff gave this to me, and I had the unfortunate pleasure of hearing armin van buuren play it and paul oakenfold as well.

12. New Order - Blue Monday
Classic

13. 8 Wonders - 8th Wonder (Espen & Stian Mix)
This is pretty ironic - everything I said about the original mix, but I like it better. Have started off sets with this one. It's got a new-age feeling to it, strong percs and bass make it a bodily experience. For dancing in cool weather at the brink of dawn waiting for the sun to peek over the mountains, or for morning lovemaking.

14. Steve Bug & Tanzmann - Shick
From the comp. "Neo-Trance". Gotta love poker flat

15. Michel De Hey - Jetchi
Driving groove, richly textured gritty brassy saws, bumping bassline, cool track.

16. Phuture 303 - Acid Trax
fuck yes, one of the most furious pieces of music I have ever heard

thats enough for now

last one, honest

Funkstörung - Fat Camp Feva (Shadow Huntaz Remix)
great hiphop track, the beatedits in this track is great

Aquanote - True Love (Petalpusher Dub)
i like the original but don't like this remix alot tho, it's ok, but it's standard miguel migs fare

Elissa - Min 3alby Ghanait
arabic track, have it on one of elissa's albums, nothing special with this track but it's a good track

Chemical Brothers - Galvanize (Pocket Rocket Remix)
TA's own MaRt did this remix and he took the track straight of the cd, by using the strings and some of elements from the intro & break he did a banging rework. The fake acidlines are great and that bassline is thick very driving

The James Gang - Ashes, The Rain & I
taken from this great cd called "A Break from the Norm" which is basicly a collection of tracks that's all been sampled by Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. This great symphonic rock track from the 70's holds the source of where norman got the strings for "Right Here, Right Now"

Fadel Shaker - El Door 3ala Me
pretty ok track, this one was on an album that i got for another track which is immense.

Blümchen - Ganz Bald
it's on blümchen's greatest hits 2cd, blümchen is one of my guilty pleasures, don't like this track tho, not because it's a "downtempo" track but it's just pretty bland

Midway - Kung Fu
one of my favs from Ralph Berendse, great percussionwork in this one

Björk & David Arnold - Play Dead
so beautiful, just beautiful, a great collaboration.

Soul Of Man - Love & Hate
a nice slab of funky finger lickin breaks.

Michelle Gayle - Freedom (Classic Expo Mix)
David Morales on the remix here, good remix but it's very typical of the 90's def mix sound, however i do like the dark pads with the plot twist morales brings into the mix in the middle of the track, really gives this garagehouse track a different flavour

Haddaway - Rock My Heart (Radio Edit)
this might well be my favourite Haddaway track, ten times better than "what is love"

Redman - Fuk Da Security
was & still is available for download at the Gilla House site. Great redman track, really like the guitar sample that was used.

Looptroop - Long Arm Of The Law
Immense track, Embee's jazzy beat is great and i like when Promoe imitates Junior Reed at the end of his verse

Dead Can Dance - Bird
from the collection "A Passage In Time", one of the bonus tracks on it, it's a great 3/4 tribal track with some minor chanting.

Autopilot - Betty Boy
an absolute mad mashup which fuses together the beats of Spiderbait's cover of "Black Betty" and the John Denver's "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" albeit distorted. This is nothing short of genius

Hey, whatever, it's not like I have anything better to do :P

Tilt - I Know You're Afraid
This is one of the few newer Tilt tracks I like. Then again I'm a breakaholic

Dallas Superstars - Helium
I didn't even know I had this anymore but I'm glad I do. Energetic goodness without cheese (unless you listen to the vocal clips).

Sentenced - Noose
This is one of those tracks that happens to magically appear on my HD every time I have friends over drinking. A decent hard rock/metal track.

LCD Soundsystem - Yeah (Crass Version)
I heard this on some DJ's set while listening to the radio at work and instantly had to get it. Not a very good track otherwise but the buildup towards the end is just mental.

Rank 1 - Awakening (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Always brings a smile to my face. Very summery.

Solar Factor - Deep Sonar
Not one of M.I.K.E's finest. And this file seems to be in mono for some weird reason.

Pepe Deluxé - Salami Fever
Breaks goodness from Finland. These guys are percussive/experimental geniuses.

Mark Normal - Total Seduction
It's very rare that someone can make a track this simple and make it work. I like.

Blackwatch & Greed feat. Leslie - Gentle Rain (Grayarea Dismembered Breaks Mix)
Can't go wrong with Grayarea, can you?

The Chemical Brothers - The Sunshine Underground
One of my faves from the Chems. Hypnotic stuff.

Spicelab - The Last Supernova
- Very nice 17 minute higher bpm trance journey from Oliver Lieb's Spicelab debut album.

David Arnold - The James Bond Theme (LTJ Bukem Remix)
- Bukem's d'n'b remix in its original most subtle form which differs quite a bit from the reedited and ruined version featured on Arnold's 1997 Bond theme compilation. Bukem released the original remix on his own 'Rarities' CD in 2002.

Leevi And The Leavings - Tuhannen Markan Seteli (Disko Instrumentaali)
- Rather hilarious yet addictive little piece of instrumental Finnish pop rock from the mid 80s.. also featured as the theme song for a sports news show on TV here more than a decade ago. From their best of compilation 'Keskiviikko'.

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
- Ahh good ol' Sabbath and the days when Ozzy's talking was still somewhat understandable.. This is the rockin' opener track from their self titled debut album from 1970. Taken from a CD reissue of the album.

Goldie - Inner City Life (Rabbit In The Moon's Vocalic City)
- I love RITM but some of the RITM remixes aren't really too great, lack of "something" to keep you interested for the whole time.. just like this lengthy pretty dull proggy house mix. It has its moments and will most likely work in a club but still not my mix of choice... the breakdown is lovely but that's about it. Then again RITM breaks mix, titled 'Escape From The Vocalic City' or RITM ambient mix, titled 'Return To Vocalic City', are much more interesting. From the US CDM of Inner City Life.

Lunatic Asylum - Cabal (Energy Flow) (DJ Tiësto Remix)
- A very good example of enjoyable uplifting trance i sadly seem to listen quite rarely these days. So me likey this one alot! From the Cabal CDM.

Transform - Transformation (Irresistible Trance Mix)
- Absolutely wonderful piece of old skool trance, still not as good as original but this remix by Irresistible Force is very damn good as well. Taken from the 3rd volume of easily one of the best trance compilation series ever created.. 'Secret Life Of Trance' originally compiled by Caspar Pound from the early to mid 90s, where about all the tracks of all the volumes were/are worth OMGing about unlike most trance compilations nowadays.

Putsch '79 - Arpeggio Life
- Quite nice Finnish retro sounding feel good houser from a few years back, picked from a loungy compilation called 'Later - Faze Action'.

Fridge - Paradise (Komakino Remix)
- Don't like Fridge's second take on the track much at all.. it's not a totally lost effort but not that great either. I wish shuffle would have chosen the much better Push remix on the same CDM tho.

Winx - Hypnotizin' ('96 Remix)
- Josh Wink went on to melodic old old skool breaks with this remix which has pretty much nothing in common with original or any of the other mixes on the CDM. Great mix tho.
