And that's what Groundhogboy and Opus are arguing about. They're not automatically assuming that there's no chance it had anything to do with race eigther (I think) but they're also not automatically assuming it did.
The fact of the matter is that even if that were the case, it would be pretty hard to prove. Most people don't scream racial slurs anymore, even if they are racist. |
That's exactly my point. Thank you for summarizing that well.
TheDemon,
I hope you can understand this was precisely what I was trying to get across to you. I realize I came across as a bit of a turd in the process. I will apologize for that if you can understand my central point in doing so: I simply wanted you to realize that you were making unsupported claims in a debate forum, that's all. I and a few others here really try hard to keep this forum separate from other forums like the COR because of that central point. I had no intention of taking your opinion away nor would I be able to. Rather, I just wanted you to be able to support your opinion, if possible. Now granted, supporting yourself doesn't always happen, and I'd be pretty hypocritical to state that I do this 100% of the time. More often than not, however, I try to state something with at least a bit of substance behind it that could give it a bit of weight.
So I do hope you accept my apology, and I do hope you post here more often in the future. I just hope you please consider the differences between this forum versus the other forums when you do post something.
