Congrats to my Sens for making me such a proud fan... they were bet against in every series and they played their hearts out, couldn't be more proud of my team right now... the way the francise has played thru bankrupcy, the way the players have taken pay cuts to stay, the way the team has drafted their talent instead of buying it and the way our nation's capital sang their hearts out during the anthem every game. I don't care what other team you cheer for, they are everything a Canadian franchise and hockey city should be and I'm so proud to cheer for them!! |
well put.
Some notes on the final: Redden-Meszeros combo a liability. Also, Redden, Gerber, Schubert, Meszeros need to be shed from roster. Sens need to get a tad more rugged, ala Gary Roberts and another tough defenceman.
Happy for Selanne, Rob Neidermayer and Brian Burke, don't care for the rest (Burke because he was GM for Vancouver - where I'm from). Also happy that the team that knocked out Vancouver won, though I was cheering for Sens. I'll settle for that.
Lastly, all the Canadian teams have played for the Cup the last 14 years, and even Tampa, North Carolina, now Anaheim have won. Even the Florida Panthers, another new team, have competed.
The Leafs? The proudest hockey fans in all the NHL?
39 seasons since they last competed for the Stanley Cup
