I know I'm probably in the minority in saying this, but I preferred Deep Dish....

Dubfire = haven't really been into his sound
Sharam = pure cheese since going solo
Deep Dish = seem to balance each other out, creating something unique that I enjoyed.

*EDIT - seems Matt agrees, this is his post from TRIBE (pretty much identical) lol*

They used to combine for magic.

I personally don't see what all the fuss is about either. Not really on the train on this one. He's capitalizing on a sound that's already popular...OooOOOooooo, HYPE!

Yeah, same with me. I mean, I even try to give everything a chance.

FFS, everyone loved it so much, I listened to Burridge's Footwork set 3x (all three parts!), before i gave up on it.

I didn't say that. I don't like the minimal clicky shit Lawler, Audiofly, Trentmoller, Lee Burridge, Locodice, etc., are playing, and Dubfire is moving into that style. His EM was nice, but his Ibiza Dance Global Radio 14Aug07 set is more what he's moving towards, and I don't like it.

I don't like what I don't like. That's just the way it is.

lol, it's actually quite the opposite of this dude. his EM is a WAY better representation of what he's playing in the clubs than the ibiza dance sessions....it's not even funny how far off the ibiza dance sessions is to what he plays when he plays out...mixes like that are much more on the experimental and fun side for him....

and to clear the air here....what he's dropping when he's out in the clubs isn't anything even relatively close to slow....lol.....he fucking lays it down. believe me.

lol, where are you guys even forming these opinions from?

and to clear the air on another thing here....while all of you think he's right into this new tech/click/minimal/ohwow sound....the way he is playing right now....the way he's structuring his sets.....the type of songs he's playing actually remind me alot of old school deep dish.....pre GU25 times to be exact.....i think it's safe to say ali has gone back to his roots as an artist but he's doing it with a modern twist.

I know man, and trust me, I give Dubfire top billing whenever I get my hands on his sets. But he's so borderline right now that I feel he could go in either direction at any given moment, but I'm so hoping he keeps rockin it for me.

That Ibiza set, I mean, wasn't that recorded at Pacha? Like I said, I would have spread around the avian bird flu if he played that when I was there.

it was recorded in a studio before his show at space with carl that night.....and as a matter a fact....a snippet from that show was broadcast on carl's global radio show.....i'll find it for ya and let you hear the difference yourself

Lawler Says It Best

Steve Lawler in 'Tribal Survivor Interview"

quote:

Which producers are inspiring you now?

>>>Someone who's shit hot, right now is Ali from Deep Dish. The music he's making is unbelievable.

That's interesting as a lot of people were disappointed with the direction Sharam went after Deep Dish.

>>>I was too but I guess he made a decision. But I've still got an awful amount of respect for Deep Dish even though their last album was definitely more on a commercial route. But each to their own. It's funny as a lot of my friends who live back in Surry Hill, girls working as secretaries who don't go clubbing, even they know who Sharam is because he broke into the charts. So in that way he's succeeded. He's made it. 'P.A.T.T' is a great song if you like commercial/pop dance music, but personally for me, what Ali is doing is bang on it.

I'm with Lawlerskates 100%

Sharam is all about the cheese and he wants to be a rockstar or at least on the level of Bob Sinclar.

Dubfire, however, is on another planet. I've never really liked Deep Dish, but I have respected them for what they have done for house music globally. But in the past year or so, Dubfire has been creating amazing productions and really influencing some of my fav DJs like Vibe, Calderone, Chus and Ceballos, etc.

Even locally, Dubfire is the producer everyone is talking about.
