However, even though the school I'm going to is supposed to be a really good business school in France, I feel the quality of education here I'm getting is much lower than I get in Canada. I hear a lot of North American students studying in France complain about this.

My university education in Canada is fucking expensive, but I certainly get what I pay for. I'd much rather pay the amount that I do and get the education that I get in Canada than pay nothing and get the education that's available here in France.

On the whole I hear what you're saying, but I still see it as a good thing. There are definitely varying levels of post secondary education here, and arguably some schools are much better than others; the prices of their respective tuitions also reflect this. However, at least there is the option of free post secondary, comparatively to Canada, which has none. Either way, way off OT of this thread anyways.

Ok, forgive me bitterness there, but I think its important to note, although it is off topic, that the 'free' education in Canada, even in Canada is worth very little. And most European countries, along with many in the middle-east, asia, and so forth, offer free POST-SECONDARY education...

Anyways..

In Canada (like most countries) you can earn the privilege to a free post-secondary education if you want it bad enough.

Furthermore, the fact that there are waiting lists for international students wanting to attend our universities (despite increasing internation student tuitions) is not consistent with your theory.

French students studying here say the same thing, but you need to know something. They have a free education system, and basically everyone can get into university and get a diploma. But if you're really good and want to get somewhere in life in France you need to get into a Grande École and its very difficult and hard to go through. But at least there's a choice for those who are good enough and bright. In Canada there's no such Universities, anyone can basically get into almost every program.

do you have any stats regarding this?
as far as I know, uni.'s are tripping over themselves to get peeps like me to attend, because our tuition is so much higher then of the domestic students

Ehhh, I don't know about that. Grande Écoles are extremely hard to get into, but I heard from people studying at them that once you get into them, they aren't much more difficult than the normal universities. It's just the reputation that gets you places.

Lets just say that a class full of brigh(er) people makes things much more intresting for everyone plus all the connections you make there.

lol maybe because you're from Cyprus. That's the excuse some of my cousins from Pakistan got plus it was hard for my ex to get into the programs she wanted because there was a quota for int'll students. No stats, just experience.

I think the real conclusion of this thread is that the Canadian education system sucks by somehow allowing this fuck nut to graduate at 16.

Where the hell are the standards you would find in many of the countries immigrants come from?
