imo it's a lot more interesting when you have to dig around to find out more of the story. I hope a sequel gets made, and I hope they find a way to keep it interesting. I'm wondering if another POV type movie will just be a little lame

What if it was from the POV of one of the soldiers, anyone notice the ones that grabbed them after they got out of the subway had cameras on their helmets?

This is what I hear the most complaining about. Why does everyone insist on having stuff fed to them, can't someone make a movie where nothing is resolved and the audience is just wondering "oh what the FUCK?!"

if it happened "moments" before the "earthquake" then why was it light in the shots? it was night in NYC...if the thing was "just off the coast" it would have still been dark (i.e. sunrise shouldn't have happened....unless it was really closer to england, which wouldn't make any sense how the shit happened so fast in NYC (and why they said "harbour" too).

also, there was another video online that showed a helicopter's view of the oil barge thingy being swallowed into the ocean. and that was also daylight.

the more i read peoples reviews, the more i want to see it again, really

i totally recommend seeing thise twice, and maybe more. there are so many things to notice throughout the movie tied in to the marketing campaign. like the girl passed out on the couch is one in the pics with rob and his bro on 1-18-08.com

and when you're anticipating things to happen you tend to focus on other areas of the screen and listen to even more of the dialogue. like when they cart by the soldier with his stomach exposed in the department store one of the doctors say "yep, another bite victim" (or something like that). so you can anticipate Marlena exploding.

still didn't catch the satellite at the end. i hope someone on the interwebs captures and posts it. really wanna see what the fuck that was about.

and i stayed through to the end of the long LONG ass credits, there is definitely a audio clip at the end of some dude whispering.

You know what's the best about Cloverfield? The only really good and worthwhile moment that emerged from the whole movie? This:

I know it has been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I also think that there were multiple monsters. The one that appeared at the end did not look big enough to destroy the bridge with its tail; let alone demolish buildings.

In an interview on IGN, the director admits the mysterious object seen at the end of the film.

"Did you see the thing in the last shot? In the final shot there's a little something, and I don't wanna say what it is. The final shot before the titles. The stuff at Coney Island, there's a little something there and I don't want to give it away 'cause the fun is sort of to find it, but I will say this: there's a funny thing, you look at the shot and until you see it you don't see it and you really don't see it and obviously you don't 'cause none of you have seen it, but once you see it you'll never stop seeing it."

Maybe you're right, I must not remember correctly. I remember it being dark too

It's not an alien, it's a deep sea creature...possibly mutated. I'm guessing whatever dropped out of the sky was a satellite from the Tagruato Corp.

No, I think it was a satellite that fell out of orbit, landed in the water, and disturbed the monster. The premise is that the monster has been lying dormant in the ocean for thousands of years and something triggers it's beatdown of Manhattan.
