Hi,
I came to Orlando for Armin van buuren and Ferry Corsten.
This was my first trip to Florida and Tabu.
Firstly, Tabu is an awsome place if you compare with Pacha New York. It wasnt packed and there were a lot of room for dance. People inside were so cool, nobody acted like an ass hole.
The only bad thing was the credit card system which Tabu is using for credit cards. In most places clubs open account for credit cards(Tabu doesnt use the POS system) but in here it wasnt and was taking so long to get my credit card.
And one more thing, Why Armin stop @2.39 a.m. It wasnt necessary, He might drop at least 2-3 more tracks. I guess Tabu didnt want to risk their alcohol permit and didnt want any headache. But I think Armin didnt like it too. He seemed he was pissed.
PS: JD on the rocks I paid $14 and a beer is $5 and a vodka and lemon was $4.75 which was REALLY good.. but didnt get why JD was so expencive It is a domestic drink..
I liked Tabu..

JD on the rocks = $14 because it was a double....
Why would they not start a tab for you? They made you run your card every time you wanted a drink?

I believe they wanted armin to stop early to get people out asap. Yes very lame-o. |
Yes they are anal. A 4 COP liquor license (what Tabu has) is around 450,000$. You can loose it if 1 non-employee is in your building at 3:01. Tabu is run by a cooperation and their policy is the building shuts down at 2:30 so they have 30 minutes to clear it - which is reasonable in my eyes. This is why I opened the doors an hour early - to make time slots work.
The economics of Orlando entertainment suck. No where else in the world have I ever had so many hurdles to overcome. I have opened many nightclubs here - and its not that we are not spending the money... its that the government has made it so expensive to operate that it is really silly to even try to do these sort of things here.

I really liked tabu.
Armin did a good job by showing up in this club.
In New York we dont have any decent clubs any more after Crobar has been shotdown.
Pacha's line ups are really cool but it is over over packed that you cant even imagine.
PS: I dont think tabu want to close the club early too. Jeffhtg is right, If you want to complain about clubs closing times, you should find someone who is incharge in government.
