anyway, here's a question: what are your thoughts on actually being labeled gay?

i got into an argument w/ a gay guy on bourbon street because i went into one of the gay bars and he was trying to get all up in my shit (no pun intended) and i told him i wasn't gay and he was all like, "wtf are you doing in a gay bar then?" and i'm like, "i'm getting a shot of vodka, meeting new people, and then pressing onward" and he says, "but this is a gay bar, wtf don't you get a shot of vodka elsewhere" and i was kind of upset...like, i should be able to go into any bar, regardless of sexual orientation and just hang out, get a drink, meet some people, and move on to the next bar. likewise, if i see gay guys goin at it in a "straight" bar or whatever, i'm like, "hey that's cool, good for them" you know what i mean? seriously, who the fuck cares who anyone is (not you personally, jake), everyone should just get in big fucking orgy and fuck the night away.

no, seriously, i would answer your question but i dunno if you were just asking it towards jake, or to the other assorted fags around here, i guess i'd be the young conservative southern one. haha. but to answer your question, i think that gay guy you met was just an asshole who got defensive because he was into you and when he found out he couldn't have you, he retaliated by acting like you shouldn't belong there. and that's bullshit, anyone should be able to go to any type of club/bar and do whatever they want, even if it is one specifically aimed towards a minority group.

kidding of course, but yeah...thats how i view it. i don't think there should be designated "gay" or "straight" only bars just like there shouldn't be "black" bars or "mexican" bars or whatever either. i suppose people tend to what to "hang out" with those of similar interests/backgrounds (obviously if you're a gay dude and you go to a gay bar, your odds of "gettin' some" are better than going to a "Straight" bar [if that's your goal, at least]), and people in general flock towards that...but its upsetting when someone gets honestly upset when someone "different" from their group "invades" or however you want to think about it.
