intertesting idea...however this sounds so "underground" that it's about to cave in!

i am wary of any "standpoint" theory that would privilege one environment over another. I would also argue that sequestering your art and restricting access is repressive and could ultimately stunt the creative process. Moreover, there's a pretty good chance that anything produced w/in the confines of this compound would be irrelevent to anyone outside of its walls. How can you make such demands of art?

IMO underground is the spirit of DIY that got this scene started.

Where did this Dubfire = underground joke came from..? I have a vague idea that he claimed to be underground in some interview but I'm not sure how/where/when.

Yeah, there was some interview when he was talking about "keeping it underground." I don't remember the exact wording.
