I feel the same way they look cool, I've fired them, but I have no desire to own one. I don't think I could shoot someone and wouldn't want the responsibility of have a deadly weapon in my home.

Everything you own, you have because it's allowed and you then choose to purchase it. Millions don't own guns because the have interest in them. Just like race cars, motorcycles, RV's, golf clubs, cdjs, if there is an activity you enjoy you buy the tools to enjoy such activity. I enjoy shooting therefore I own guns legally.

And yes, we both have concealed weapons permits (which, ps, you have to take a class on shooting before you can have one), and yes, you DO have a wait period before you can just leave with a gun.

I don't have ninja skills, so if someone breaks into my house, I can't exactly throw a knife at them and hit them - nor would I seem scary with it either. However, when I come down the hall with a shotgun - and they hear the 'click-click', chances are that person is going to think twice about continuing with the break-in.

What the fuck, your boyfriend goes out and shoots your dinner? What on earth sort of things is he hunting that requires such an array of weapons? Unless you're confusing your boyfriend with Rambo...

Foolish, never go back to a previous statistic, you run the risk of letting others in on a single slip-up and could blow your entire cover.

math ftw

here's another comparison......

State of Indiana... Size about 92900 sq Km, population 5.5M (about)
Scotland Size about 78772 sq Km, population 5.0M (about)

so you would agree that these are two comparable entities by landmass and population,,,,

1999 Gun murders in Scotland... 7 according to the previous poster
1998 Gun murders in Indiana.... 454 according to source

and Indiana is lame compared to some of the trigger happy hot spots in the US........

Gun crime

"Applying a hotspot perspective to firearm crime suggests a focus on both places and people. Research in Indianapolis found that only 3 percent of the city's addresses accounted for 100 percent of the gun crimes"

It's the people not the guns.

btw Indiana ranked 20th in 2006 for murder rate per 100,000 people.

Murder Rates

Precisely. People are not responsible enough to be trusted with owning guns, so they should have them taken away.
