I am very aware of this, hence why unfortunatley, I have to bullshit and just say I graduated when I got my GED instead. Quite unreal considering how stupid some of the people were in the "study" class I took. I only took that class to get a discount on the test lol

I actually have had people look over me as a candidate when I used to say I had my GED. I now just say I graduated in 2002. I would have if I didn't fuck around in HS, but can't change the past. I got my GED in Aug of 2002. So, not really far off.

Depends on where you live. I know in California, the GED is not available till you are 18. If you are under 18, you take the CHSPE (California High School Proficiency Exam) which allows you to leave HS early, and get on with your life.

Fair enough, but neither did I. I just was an unchallenged git, and saw no point. I realized later that it was all as a result of being very unchallenged. I literally had no motivation since it was so easy. Yeah, it was a dumb reason when I was in the middle of it, but that is exactly what I realized after the fact. I pretty much failed every class from 9-11.5. I got out of regular HS and went to home study and made up a LOT of the work, but I still had 1-2 semesters left and would have been a super senior. I just said fuck it and quit, got my GED, and started working. I also had a lot of shit happen at home that didn't allow me to continue HS.

I loved HS, and don't regret one second of all the fucking around I did. I partied a lot and made lots of friends, then finally when I decided I wanted to go to university I picked up my socks and kicked ass my last year. So instead of stressing for 5 years and rushing into something I hate, only to become a teacher instead - like the majority, I found something I love and didn't waste my 20's "finding myself".
