I hope they still add ARMIN VAN BUUREN!

not going to happen!
It will still be kick ass, I'm just sad that it will most likely be in the side room

I think the main problem for me is that I won't be able to watch these guys perform in the main room together with the "Main Room" production value.

Yes we've been spoiled with the big headliners, but the main djs who will perform with the massive main room setup will be Deadmau5 & Groove Armada...

If Skills decides to do a Mix & Match where they put House & Trance in the main room (Andy opens for Deadmau5 & have Eddie/Menno/JOC close the main room), I'd somewhat understand.

But if Groove Armada will close the main stage (not knockin' GA, since I heard they're good, and will check out their set)... it'll just irritate me knowing that whoever closes the Trance side room well be throwing down bombs without the incredible main room setup...

Unfortuantly its not what they play...Its how they put the music together..Menno is ok..Andy is a producer...JOC is good and Obir is good..Deadmaus and Grove Armada are side rooms at best...Ive heard a lot of dj's play and nobody does it like Armin..Even Marcus would have been a better choice to headline...

I've been told that the trance artists are getting put in a side room & that deadmau5 is main-rooming it up.

Yeeeeeeeeeah...

Well put V Man.....
I am upset that even if i do walk in to see Deadmau5 play, i know what i will hear because his set is the same from one event to the next. Its preplanned, no crowd reading done. I dont want to make people mad but i personally feel that he has all his mashups done ahead by someone else and he just put on cds in the order they are numbered in his binder. (doubt its true but it seems that way)

Seems to me that this event is somewhat a carbon copy of EDC 2009. House in the main room with a little token Trance that most people aren't crazy about. I guess what should we expect with the same promoter?

IMO it's a weaksauce lineup pushed way too heavily into the main room (I know, set times are not up yet, but I was at EDC 2009 so surprise me with more Trance in the main room then...) There are some notable ecxeptions such as Menno...and I'm not just talking Trance, I love some Progressive House but the House DJ's here don't appeal to me much, Eddie excepted.

I know Househeads will disagree, but the majority of comments about the lineup here are unfavorable. I just hope SF LovEvolution doesn't go the way of the former Berlin Love Parade...

I think the lineup is top notch. However im not sure if trance in the side room will be good or bad. Where is Eddie gonna play?

the majority of the comments here are negative because we're dealing with trance fans. most trance fans can be characterized as having one-dimensional tastes (the inability to enjoy other forms of edm besides their island of trance) and dj worship syndrome (a condition where fans become consumed with who's playing rather than what's playing). the second condition is understandable considering many trance djs play quite predictable music. but what makes that even more confusing is why you guys get so excited to hear the same tunes you've heard on asot for months. i dunno i get excited about hearing new music with new sounds.

but what's sad is if you took armin's exact tl and gave it to menno to play, some of you wouldn't have nearly as much fun because you didn't get to stare at armin for 3 hours. others will have their night ruined when the production isn't the most grandiose. one has to wonder, why is it you can't enjoy the music for what it is without the biggest and tallest lighting rig possible?

jamesalin, you act like you're the only person here whose "heard a lot of djs". lol. well the way you have your mind made up about all of them sounds like you haven't heard nearly enough. i've heard a lot of djs too, and many of them a lot of different times. some of the best ones i've heard can drag their feet through one set and knock it out of the park the next. much of it has to do with your own expectations being built up too high.

if you're gonna spend the next few weeks psyching yourself into thinking this party is going to suck just cause your wet dream team isn't playing, again, then it will suck. but ask yourself this... how much more epic can it get from year to year? at what point are you satisfied? however if you go with a blank slate and an open mind, you just might have a good time like many others there will. none of you have any idea how these djs are going to play in the context of lovevolution. anyone that knows anything about anything can tell you that the context affects how the dj plays greatly.

finally, you all need to cut the promoter some slack. please believe from the outset they didn't plan on making deadmau5 the headliner, but that a number of circumstances including dj availability, changing political climate and other logistical problems constrained their options and their timetables from which to work with. the stars don't align for armin/ferry/markus/tiesto/a&b every year. but as supposed fans of trance music, that shouldn't even matter.

maybe I am jaded, but really really thought the masses wouldn't want armin/ferry/markus/tiesto/a&b AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN

Skills has booked those same dj's over and over. Maybe its just comfort food as there are trance dj's that are far better than Armin or Tiesto out there.

the flier doesnt look balanced

you have D5 and GA at the top then below eddie and two other acts...

perhaps the promoters have one more big name left to announce who would be listed above GA and D5...
(give it a pyramid like look)
