DA was different and it wasn't just a front. He seemed much happier the last year.

A year ago this week Lis invited DA, Ambs and myself (even though I already knew) over to dinner. She broke the news to us that she was pregnant and DA was so happy for her.

It hurts Lis and I alot especially when we think about the beautiful girl that was brought into our lives and the friend we just lost.

If you are not hurt by his actions then what are you? He didn't have a terminal illness, clinical depression is NOT terminal. You can get help if you have, you could get him help if he needed it.

Mel, it sucks, I feel bad for you, and you know its legitimate that he was "looking better" or "sounding better" but if he had made these sort of threats in the past, which he had, we had all seen it, then you can NEVER take your eyes off of him. If he made these motions then you have to get them help. You never ever doubt someone when they talk about suicide.

Remember what he was, but remember that he hurt you in the end. Thats a horrible way to view it, but its the realistic and truthful way of looking at it. Otherwise you do not stigmatize suicide. You need to stigmatize suicide the same way you stigmatize other violent crimes.

So sorry if I am offending any of you, but grow up and take a realistic, unbiased view of suicide and you will see where I am coming from. Thats not something you can do now, but in a few months or a year step back and go "OK let me look at what Raul did, and how do I feel about it."
