ironically as people get older they actually become more sensitive to loud noise even though their ability to actually make sense of it becomes dimmer. I guess everything just becomes white noise?

Good luck being able to hear the music (if anything) if you decide to do that weekly. Hence the entire earplug concept brough up as a kind courtesy request by some of us.

I dont' know about you but I'd rather go out with earplugs and enjoy myself than leave early or stay home alltogether.

i agree but should the club owners/management think for you? even if you forget them at home you wont go deaf after one night.

because, if you expect them to take care of that health care aspect/over the top customer babysitting, dont you think that would open up a pandora's box :

-strob light and lasers can cause seizures, take 'em down.
-stop selling booze, there may be drunk drivers after the party.
-airport like security, because people bring drugs in for personal use/profit.
-no shirt, no shoes, no service.
-free water and extra security for dehydrated/fucked up/thirsty but no money customers.
-face masks for customers who look sick.

and so on.

once you leave your door, you know very well what are you getting yourself into. and if you dont take good care of yourself, why should anybody else??

selling earplugs at the coatcheck, good idea. handing 'em out for free???? pft.

even montreal can be pricey.. But yeah i would agree that montreal is up there. In my experienes Buenos Aires was tops on my list.

so are my opinions as a patron invalid?

Because since i only work at a club 1 night a week and patronize 2 other nights each week i would say that they arent!

As a patron i think a lot of the expectations that people have are unreasonable.
