I've heard good things about Zyban as well. A buddy of mine takes it and not only has his desire to smoke disappeared, but when he does smoke, it tastes disgusting. I know that these kind of drugs work similarly to anti-depressants in the way they affect reward centres, so it makes sense why they work.

I haven't stopped smoking but .... I do smoke way less than before

now I'm at 2 cigarretes per day

It's a step in the right direction.

I managed to quit about 3/4 months ago. The first week was absolute hell and I didn't use any patches/gum, I just went cold turkey. After that I wondered what all the fuss was about, it didn't bother me at all once I passed the one week barrier.

I do miss it occasionally (when out drinking), but overall I feel a LOT better for quitting.

Oh shit yeah, lots. Lol. Well actually that's not entirely true. Sometimes I go for days without smoking, sometimes I smoke a whole lot in day. It's pretty random and depends on my levels of stress, boredom, or blood alcohol content, lulz.


I'm gonna try quitting again after my birthday. I saw another autopsy at the hospital yesterday, and atherosclerotic hearts and arteries scare the crap out of me.

I didn't know that!.. I was completely making a habit of smoking while I go out, now I don't bother smoking cigarettes at all, just bud every once in a while
