dude, I was one of those (hopefully somewhat coherent) ppl that bumped into u. Even tho I chatted with u online several times here and on di, I still felt a bit starstruck talking to u... It's just pretty facinating to get an opportunity like the one you have and I really hoped to be able to pick your brain on what has worked for you. As cheesy as it sounds, I really did feel humbled by both your performance and persona. Congrats Marcello, it's something you can certainly be proud of and not be so shy.
I've been listening to Armin since '98 and back when no one knew who Armin was - I said that dude will be número UNO. I started messing with synths because of Armin and to This day still have an email he personally replied to, responding to a production question I asked. For me, playing ASOT would be the ultimate honor and acknowledgement. From that standpoint, I envy you - as this is a dream so many of us, aspiring producers and bedroom djs won't ever experience. Soak it in, you deserve it... The only question for me at this point would be "what's next"?
Hope that someday someone higher up would open the door for me to an opportunity like the one you had. |
And of course, thanks for the kind words man It was a shocker to be part of this as you could imagine. I'm 23 now, been fucking around with producing for about 8 years now and never in a million years thought music could get me flown overseas or put me in front of 6000 screaming people in my hometown. It's an overwhelming feeling.
I am very humble still, because I still go to work 5 days a week and night classes 4 days a week. I can only hope I stay that way even when things get better.
We'll see where this music takes me!
