I agree the beginning of his set was different. Played some cheese but then stuff we've never heard.
It's 525 am still going strong. Big crowd left.
And wow! Dropping a lot of techno bombs that's I've never heard. Very afterhours vibe.
You should have sticker around getting really good.
Markus = animal.

I left at about 5:30, crowd sucked. NYE people aren't like the normal crowd. It felt like just a bunch of people trying to fuck their date on the dance floor, and I was getting death stares by every dude along with it. Lots of normal top40 grind with your girl type of club people me thinks.

i think you guys are being too critical, he played for 12 hrs on NYE, it's not a crime that he played some vocals and mainstream stuff around 12-2, it's expected, not everybody there is a diehard markus fan and he read the crowd very well.
his music after 2 ish 3, wow!!!! unbelievable for a top trance dj to have selections like that in his arsenal.

I wouldn't say anyone is being "too critical." THese people paid money - If someone doesn't like how a DJ plays, they should say they didn't like how the DJ played. A person shouldn't expect to wait several hours to hear stuff they like. Especially if the first part of the set is just off-base and completely different from what they expected (and not in a good way) going by the DJ's past.
Maybe Markus played too long of a set for his own good? (How long did he play, BTW?)
It does happen...
Anyhow, this post goes for any DJ and is not particular to Markus last night...
Markus could do the same thing again and play a very different set, who knows. What can be said, though, is that peeps seem to be a bit critical of last night overall, especially for the first part of the set.
Wish I could've made it, but the responses here, FB, and other places have made me feel a little better. One night won't change my impression of him, though, especially since I wasn't there myself.
