our conflict with iraq is not a chicken egg scenerio- i dont believe the level of intelligence that has been displayed in this forum.

the reason we have sanctions on iraq is because they attacked one of our allies and a member of the united nations without justification. they also attacked their own people who do not share the same beliefs as them - arguably to test their new biological weapons. we have enacted sanctions over iraq, but these are justified and necessary, and if you do not see the threat that iraq poses to any free world country you practice a 'turn the other cheek' ideology that i for one dont find a single thread of hope in. saddam is a madman that with the means to do so would destroy another country and develop nuculear weapons. he proves this time and time again, and it is documented history on both sides of the argument that proves these facts.
anyway, some good behavior and the need for further oil production we allowed the oil for food program and partially lifted these sanctions over iraq. this program is working just fine, we are trading oil for food and the means to create food- the problem is that it is not being properly distributed amoung the people of iraq.
now many of you plan on - by this point reaching the conclusion and counterargument that we have no substantial reason to be 'fucking' with iraq. and therefore, the reason must be to attack oil reserves and to gain further control of the oil economy. everyone also thought so about kuwait when we entered the first war in the middle east. however, the facts do not support any of these claims. all of the foreign investment that has poured into kuwait over the past decade has not even yielded 1.5% of the worlds oil economy, and it would take far longer to promote the oil industry in a country without a stable democratic government.
now we hear other stupid arguments- such as 'the US involves itself here, and fights all these wars there' etc etc. first off- almost every war we have become involved in was for the sole purpose of protection of ourselves and our allies from being overrun by tyrannical and deadly political forces. it is easy to point fingers and say that we have abused our power that has been delegated, yes delegated to us, but there is not a single country in the world who has found the balance of power and defending its own interests. when britain was the #1 industrial power they hardly used this power responsibly.. must I even discuss the use of power by the germans? one thing for sure, is that the US has tried, and succeeded for the most part, in acting responsibly with all of its power, and has defended the weak and innocent peoples of the world- although it is impossible to make blanket statements. The reason for the hatred of america is a jealousy similar to sibling rivalry- plain and simple.

ive said my peace.

Do you just want to start an arguement with everyone?

Why have so many people voted for IRAQ?
If you think that they are stockpiling biological weapons to use against America, then perhaps America should stop giving them reason to do so by starving their people with sanctions??

you "hate the fuck" out of all those nations, you got any fucking clue why? because the country in which you live has stuck it's big fat head in other peoples business for nigh on 50 years.
and what the fuck are you talking about "so called palestinians"?? do you know absolutely nothing about whats gone in 'so called israel' since world war 2? obviously not
and world war 2, before you start on that, you did fuck all, you weren't even bothered til little old Japan beat the shit out of you when you weren't looking, but you sure showed them, in true, American "shoot first ask questions later" style.
so in short, you're a twat
don't be bitter

where do you see the arguments in this statement. these are just blanket opinions that contain no facts.
cocaine, opium, and marijuana are all drug problems that were not invented by, nor solved by the people of america or israel- so i hardly see where any argument has been made there.
"our big fat head" has saved the free world many times in the life of the USA, but hey if you dont want our help- dont ask. besides, just as any country would we defended ourselves once we thought that our way of life was threatend.
as for the final argument 'shoot first and ask questions later' is completely off target. i think that we were not the ones to shoot first in this scenerio, in fact i believe it was the japanese

Good point, and lets not forget that until very recently it was legal for the IRA to collect money in America, and so much of its funds were coming from America.

Yet america closed down the national bank of Somalia (i think it was somalia?) recently, because terrorist funds may have passed through it, thus crippling the economy, starving the people etc.

In Short... America is a ****.

i cant tell if youre trying to play devils advocate here, or you actually believe the shit you're writing

the ira is a political group here just like any others, and therefore american law would forbid it to make it illegal to stop it from collecting money - that whole 'freedom of assembly' thing is a bitch
but look at how ignorant your argument is:
"since it isn't illegal for the IRA to collect money in America"
then "much of the funds were coming from America"

what about the other 5 billion people living in the world

america closed down *A* national bank in somalia beacuse the only have terrorist funds flowing through them on a regular basis, but the country is a well known breeding ground for terrorist militants- not even the united nations is safe in somolia and if you think their national banking system is why the country fell to collapse you are on another planet.

I didn't actually vote for the US, but lately, I wish I did
lets see if I can keep this to one reply
Ok, about the crack, smack, and pot, I dumbed stuff done, my aim was to be patronising, obviously failed, so I'll explain what I meant
Cocaine was illegalised due to it being quite popular amoungst the black population of new york, and to pass the law quicker newspapers ran stories of "crazed black men on cocaine" raping and pillaging the streets of new york, which is complete bullshit of course

Opium was illegalised as it was fairly popular with the chinese in port towns, and opium made the chinese lads work harder, faster, and longer. Uncle sam didn't like it. It was depriving some lazy ass american bum out of a job, so the spin was put on that opium from the chinese was the cause of unemployment in these port towns, and Opium was quickly illegalised
(I've saved the best til last)
Cannabis was first made illegal by california, as there was a spate of violent crime, and by sheer coincidence there was a lot of mexican soldiers in california at the time, someone thought it was a good idea to blame those crazy stoner mexicans!. Violent Crime, on stoners, only in America . Louisiana was next as Cannabis was fairly popular in the 'jazz' scene, and everyone knows whites don't like 'Jazz', and a few black folks were making a lot of money importing pot from cuba, this was quickly halted, and those darn negroes were put back in there shackles
Marijuana isnt a problem when it's legal, as you don't have to goto dirty drug dealers, and come into contact with other drugs that you wouldn't come into contact with if, say, you walked into a Cafe and bought a pre rolled joint, so by illegalising cannabis, you've put good honest stoners at risk......
that all right for you enervate? good

now a few other things
The IRA aren't a political party you spastic, they are a terrorist organisation. Sinn Fein on the other hand, ARE a political party, and some of the members have strong ties with the IRA, I can see where you got confused, so we'll leave that one

Somalia, why is it a terrorist breeding ground? oh yeah, you stuck you big fat heads in and didn't finish the job, well done on that one by the way, black hawk downs a great movie too

quote:

yeah those vietnamese kiddies really deserved that one didnt they

yes I did get that Japan thing quite wrong didn't I, it's "shoot second, decimate two of the largest cities in the world, and don't ask any questions"

Moving onto another point. What the hell kind of country elects a man that says this on live TV
quote:
It's amazing I won, I was running against peace, prosperity, and incumbency

George W Bush, June 14th 2001
Speaking to the swedish prime minister, unaware he was on live TV

but then again, you didn't elect him, you elected Al Gore, which leads me to another point. Seeing as Al Gore recieved 539,898 more votes than the big W, why the fuck isnt he president? I'll tell you why, because America stinks. Georges brother, Jeb, made sure felons could not vote in florida. Only they didn't make sure everyone who was ineligible was a felon, hell all they needed was a similar name /birthdate, and the vote was taken away from them. Like Linda Howell. Who's Linda Howell you ask? Linda Howell was the elections supervisor for Madison County florida, never commiting a crime in her life, but due to good old Jeb, she and many others couldn't vote. Did I forget to mention that Florida is a state which votes mainly democratic? Probably didn't did I, silly me. Also there was a bit of a sham with the voting booths as well. 3000 Jewish grannies voted for Al Gore, but thanks to Katherine Harris (the woman responsible for the Florida elections and perhaps coincidentally co chairwoman of George W Bush's campaign), these jewish grannies voted for the Anti Sematic candidate, Pat Buchanan...... but hey, whats done is done, so back to bitching about Bush
Your president cannot read past a 4th grade level. When asked what his favourite childhood book was he replied "the hungry caterpillar", which is would be fairly respectable if the book hadn't been pusblished 2 years after he finished college. He doesn't read his briefing papers, occasionally having them read out to him. Now no offence, but isn't the worlds most powerful man supposed to have half a brain? not in America!
Then we move onto the ACTUAL president of the US, Dick Cheney (cos face it, George does fuck all). First some background information on Dick
* Dick voted against the equal rights amendment
* Dick voted against funding for the head start program
* Dick voted against a house resolution calling for South Africa to release Nelson Mandela
* Dick even voted against federal funding for abortions even in cases of incest and rape
as you can probably tell he's a stand up guy, but there more!
* Dick was Richard Nixons white house counsel!
* Dick went to war with Panama and Iraq when daddy was in charge!
In between the Bush regimes Dick was CEO of Halliburton industries, a very large oil company that has significant dealings with regressive governments like Burma and Iraq. In 2000, during the campaign, Dick said Halliburton had nothing to do with Iraq, and everybody accepted it. In June 2001, the Washington Post revealed Halliburton and it's subsiduaries were doing business with Iraq!
madness!
and thats just one of Bush's cronies, I've got a big list if you want me to carry on at a later date

Have you read 'Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore, Az?

Fantastic read. I'd recommend it to anyone...

due to the lengthyness, i decided not to quote the entire post.

i dont see how you can connect the sensationalization due to the freedom of the press a crime, and i believe that in britain a lot of this occurs as well although i could be wrong. you cant base the opinions of an entire country on the beliefs of one journalist, especially during an era of sensationalism throughout the entire world.
if we could try to find the root of the chinese opium problem, i dont think we would have to look further then the british, but as usual, they seemed to have stepped under the shadow of the US of A.. which seems to be big enough for france to hide under, since you bring up the war in vietnam, which we entered originally to help the french at their request.
i cant really bring up any good argument against your marijuana legalization argument, because hey, i dont agree with it. but what i do know is that there is a valid medical reason to have marijuana illegal, it has been nationally decriminalized at a great rate, and it isnt legal in many places in the world.
i also never said political party, i said political group. and afterword i thought i showed this further by explaining that it is an ideology and freedom of assembly is allowed in our country. i dont see where you addressed any of the argument that bases itself on how since america allowed these groups to collect money, we are the reason that the IRA could bomb britain.
i also do not follow your point regarding somolia, other then maybe you are agreeing with me by addressing the fact that the country is a lost cause.
to regard your anti-GWB comments- i gotta say that you sound like the cover of one of those newspapers you see on the checkout line at a supermarket. our president might not be the best speaker, but he is doing a good job, especially after one of the biggest terrorist events in the history of man.
finally, the voting contraversy was probably one of the most embarassing moments in history, and none of us can really prove that there was foul play on either side. no political system is without corruptions as im sure you know.

you ignored a lot of my points, which im sure that you just took and understood, you made a lot of good points, im not sure of the facts, so i cannot address the dick cheney comments, although i think the bush cabinet is one of the most talented cabinets that have been in charge in my lifetime
