end of what? a long era of failure? i doubt it. though that could be the case for england.

lampard will be 30 and will most definately evolve into a player that could lead the english side. joe cole will be 26, john terry, hargreaves and ashley cole will be 27, gerrard will be 28, ferdinand will be 29. these are peak years for football players. you get more mature more experienced. also the youngsters will grow up. rooney will be 22 and lennon will be 21. this WC should have taught rooney a lesson about his temper and we can expect a more mature and collected rooney in the future. and we will also get to see the english "sensation" walcott on the field perhaps in his english debut at 19. overall things are looking good for england.
