Alright well this was my first real trance event i hit (Guy Ornadel doesnt count lol), and what better way to officially de-virginize the experience with none other than the amazing Paul - Van - Dyk ... i went there with my two (newly converted to trance) buds and had one of the best times of my life...i'd been waiting too long for Paul to come to T.O just like everyone, and it was a shame he cancelled b/c of Sars but DAMN did he Ever put down a show last night !!
highlights would have to be hearing connective, ATRC, and Holding On To Nothing for sure...met a few trance addicts (i think one was Chris? could barely hear anything anyone was sayin to me inside KH hehe) .. i duno what people are saying that there was enough room inside the kool haus..i could barely move wherever i was at, but its all good. saw the man. felt the incredible vibe. got the autograph. heard the beautiful music. this night was def. one for the books .
10/10 ~~

Nice response Mark....I did see PvD use a few records, though not many.

Oh and it's great to see PvD and Armin wanting to come back to Toronto soon too. Any word on Tiesto though Mark? I haven't heard anything and he's not coming to Canada until at least January. I've heard he doesn't like the Guvernment and prefers the Docks instead. Oh well, whichever super club he does come to in TO, you have to open for him Mark...that's a no brainer.

Anyway...hard to believe the PvD insanity is already over a day old. Now back to school with essays and exams and seminar presentations up the arse until the next big party.

Oh shit....I meant to ask everyone..what was the first track PvD played? What a banger!

hi all~ i drove up to toronto for AVB + PVD + DEEP DISH....i've been heard about sum crazi things about 'guvernment+kool haus'... let me tell ya... it wuz da best club i've eva been..
i always go raving in New York.. first time raving in Toronto... I wuz stomping mad hard all nite in mah pink UFO pants... hahaha.. saw sum Detroit + NYC TAs on both Saturday and Sunday nites....The raving scene in Toronto was a little different from NYC one.. i felt kinda awkward being way too standed out wearing pink UFOs and hopping way too intense like a crazi energizer bunny with glow sticks (i didn't see any single one who wore UFOs... most peeps were dressed up very nice and neat). I think the appeal of raving and clubbing is different for every person. Some come to dance, others to socialize, but all to listen to the music. It¡¯s different in every state,in every country.. Ravers can look like anything and can be anything.. The real ravers are there for the music. The only thing to think about is the beat...
overall..it was definetely worth driving up there and it wuz off da hook!!! i can't wait til the next time i go back there~!! say hi to me next time i go up there again!!

Wow ... it's Tuesday and I still haven't recovered completely, after seeing Armin, and without sleep going to PVD.

Paul Van Dyk was unbeleivable, after Armin's amazing set last night, I wondered, and I was shocked with Paul's set, he just killed it. There is something special about Paul, somehow he just connects to the soul(atleast for me), his music changed my life 2 years ago, wow, and this was my third time seeing him, and I can't just explain it in words, that is priceless. I'll never forget the moment when he signed my little home made business card. He smiled right at me . As a DJ Paul Van Dyk is my idol, for the energy he can create with any type of music, he was and always will be my #1 DJ, my first track that got me into trance was Paul Van Dyk - for an angel

Crowd well .... unfortunately I wasn't around too many TA's, almost got beat up by some big guy, who just kept on pushing me, later I moved back to find ta's partying it up, so I stayed there and everything was wicked. I wish I got to meet more TA's, but it's really hard for me to talk when it's so loud, plus I was dancing all the time ....

Mark Oliver .... I walk in and you played my fav track Little wonder - eclipse (have that vinyl ) beautifull ... great opener you were, I was already dancing hard to your set ... wow. I was dead after PVD's set and you started with Unspoken totally surprised (in a good way) anyways ..... two thumbs up

I did meet some new people and got to know some other better then before.

LadyLotus - it was nice talking to you, even though I was completely drained out and passing out lol
Halo20 - man you a crazy dancer, and great person to talk to
Matt and Tara - always good to see you guys ... you bring out such a positive vibe
Mike and Jenna - good to see you guys, Mike thanks for the v-base, it was wicked couldn't taste the alcohol, you guys bring out a great vibe
Peter (infinity_high) - glad you came out, your wicked to party around
dj Kurfew - good to see you too going nut to PVD, holly you seemed like you were out of this world lol
Ukranian Stud - crap the music stole me aways, so next time we'll drink some vodka shots lol, good to see you always
Julie - you should've broke some rules, it would be worth it next time good to see you at the pre-meet up
Erin - you seemed pretty happy and I saw you dance harder to PVD wow wicked to party with you too
RJ - great to party with you, and thank for everything, you da man!!!!

I met some other TA's from US, but I can't remember the names, my apoligies I have terrible memory in that department.

Big thanks to Ray and Margaret, wicked after party, it was pleasure to spend some time with you guys, it's hard to get to know people in clubs, and theses little get togethers well, are just priceless.

Paul finished the night off with connected then went into an instrumental of Time of our lives, and finished off with nothing but you, as I remember.

This night will never be forgotten for the music Paul created, and for the good vibe partying around many TA's

Peace Love Unity

eso

PS. I will miss you all when I leave to Norway (although somehow I hope i don't have to lol)

Still

Brain

Dead.

I hope I'm not too cracky looking by lunchtime. I'm going to meet 1 of my childhood idols on a commercial shoot over my lunch break.

Great turnout at the pre-meet. Sorry about organizing both weekend meetups for 8pm, and not showing up til 9pm. LOL! Was a total burnout at McCool's due to a total of 10 mins sleep from the day b4. Thank goodness for V-Base! Without it, I'd have been asleep under a table long b4 PVD went on.

Had a VIP pass, but decided to wait in the KH line w/our friends, only to get turned around by the door staff at 11:40, who said we HAD to enter thru the (former) Goldclub lounge. Then the girl at the door said we had to stay in the GC lounge til 12, and then we could walk around freely. WTF?? So we went up, hung out for 2 mins greeting friends, and then realized no one was enforcing any such stupid rule, and we walked downstairs no problem. Still, we never did run into some of Graham's Irish buddies the rest of the night, which really sucked.

Once in the KH, ran into TA's all over the place. Biggest flaw of our meetup plans, Jeff: picking 12:30 as the time (the moment PVD hit the decks). Didn't realize that would be a problem til once inside. And who was the 1 TA I NEVER saw once? Techno Addict. the irony! Really didn't have much hope for PVD's set, after reading reviews from Glow the nite b4, but I actually really enjoyed it. Could've used less repeating of songs (and more Nu-NRG!), but it was a great set! Too bad I lost my bf just as PVD went on. He ended up leaving at 1:30, cuz he was certain he'd have been thrown out for being too mashed out.

Then Mark O hit the stage with a vengeance!!! I LOOOOOVE it when you bang it out!!!! Thanks for dropping so many of the new BXR releases I gave u (tho I missed a few when I went to check out DD for a bit). So many of the tracks Mark dropped are on sober_24_7's demo cd too, LOL!

Went over to check out DD, and heard remixes of Madonna's "Vogue", Dido's "Stoned", and Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" (< Laurent Wolf remix, to be released on Yoshitoshi soon). Coulda sworn I was too stoned and hearing things, but went bezerk when "EOTT" tell-ale signs were unleashed. BTW- the childhood idol I'm meeting today is the guy who sang "Eye of the Tiger". What perfect timing...!

Then back to the KH for more MO. He closed out with "The End" while singing along on the microphone. At this point, my legs were beyond destroyed. Headed back to the guv only to say goodbye to whomever we knew, and got the hell outta there. Got some Mickey D's for breakfast, went to Graham's, passed out for a few hrs, went to a brunch buffet and got me some Thanksgiving dinner, and we both hit the sack at 5:45pm, for a good 12 hr sleep session.

Shout outs to EVERYONE I met and saw. Gotta busta move now, so talk more later.

Eyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee of the tiger!

Welllll... 1st time I have seen PVD live. I was totally impressed by his track selection, nothing but bangin ass tunes the whole set. It was full of energy and technically sound. Only thing that I would have liked is more interaction with the crowd, but maybe thats just me and maybe thats just his style. PVD is definatly one of the best, big ups to him. It was really nice meeting all the TAs before and durring the show. You all have something really good going on up there hopefully it will catch on here in the US as well as it has there and it was my pleasure to get to be a small part of it. Cant wait to do it again. You guys are the best, what a memorable weekend. Thanks for being so warm.

I'm a mess right now at work...doing back to back parties was probably not the best idea, but no regrets at all! Big thanks to ChrisMack for convincing us to come out for the 2nd night!

Armin was his usual great self on Saturday and PVD absolutely rocked my world the following night!!!!!! It was my first time seeing him live and OMG it was by far one of the best parties I've been to in a long time!!! Mark always seems to step it up a notch for these events too. Hard, upbeat, high energy...absolutely incredible! For someone who spends much of his time off of the dance floor, PVD kept me in the middle of the crowd for a long time before we retreated to the cool confines by the open door at the back for the remainder of the night The 15-20 minutes we saw of Deep Dish reminded me of how disappointing their live sets seem to be...just no appropriate for a big space, IMHO...I'd like to see them in a more intimate environment, because I do enjoy their stuff.

Hearing a few tracks repeated 3-5 times over the weekend was a bit much, but understandable...on the whole, I had a great time! No complaints at all (other than nearly getting knocked over by the #$@! psychotic security guards chasing someone out the back doors at some point Getting to meet a few TAs was great too (Tara, Matt, Oliver...lots more too...I'm sure I'll remember names when full brain function returns sometime today or tomorrow, lol).

Hopefully I recover enough in time for Scumfrog this friday
