Most of you people seem to have completely forgotten about the FIRST HALF of 2003!
and remember...just cause a song is your personal favorite, doesn't mean it makes sense as a Tune of the Year candidate. A Tune of the Year should be something that EVERYONE canned and was widely successful and popular...
the three songs that I posted that stick out the most like this are Never, Boomerang, and C:\Del
EVERYONE and thier fucking mothers played those songs for about 4 months out of the year!
hell, I even heard Junior Vasquez play C:\Del!! and he's a fucking Funky-house DJ!!!

this is not to say that I don't like these songs...I just don't think they deserve TOTY nominee status: most of them only got played a couple of times by one or two DJs!
I am sick to fucking death of ATRC, but let's face it, it got played by every goddamn trance & prog DJ on the planet for almost 2/3's of the year now!
and conversly, I LOVE Butterfly, think it is a spectacular tune...but umm...it only got played by PvD (and ok, Nu-NRG), and they mainly played it in 2002!

Are you kidding me?! Rush has been played so many fucking times, just do a search in the tracklist forum. Touched By The Sun has been played by both PvD and Armin + Mike Shiver and Niklas Harding, Sunrise by Armin + Andy Jay Powell, Frenzy by Misja Helsloot,Armin, Lange and Niklas Harding, and that goes for Sincere as well etc. etc. You have got to be taking the piss if you're telling me that these haven't got widespread play. Just do a search for it in the tracklist forum and you'll see how much rotation these tunes have gotten.

And even if they hadn't got much rotation, since when was that a criterium for nominating tunes for being the best tune of the year? That's one of the most ridiculous arguments I've seen in this thread. That's like saying if your tastes don't fit with the rest of the DJ elite and other trance heads in the world it isn't valid, which is beyond stupidity. All that matters is that YOU like the tune so much that you think it is the best tune you've heard all year. Whether it has been played by all the "best" DJs or not means absolutely jack shit.
