he hasnt donated 54% to charity. he doesnt have anywhere near that in liquid cash. The majority of the 54 billion in assets he has is in microsoft stock. ( i think he has about 800 million shares or something). but he and his wife's charity has given alot though i must admit

Let me tell you, there are more than a few people who have theorized that our interference with developing countries is actually hurting their development. Think about it - we throw money at them, make it so they don't have to fight for their survival, and their development becomes all skewed and disproportionate.
