Well i'd say it works the posterior head mostly if you do it correctly. But it does involve the medial head. At least you don't have the problem of a major muscle group AKA the upper back trying to help you out on each rep like in bent over raises. I just usually go heavier on bent over raises, then switch to one or both of the two more isolation exercises with less weight to put as much attention on posterior delts as I can.
That isn't to say that your back doesn't try to help you out on these exercises as well. I just find that it's easier when doing these the right way to keep my back out of the movement as much as possible. That's just me.
