I attacked your source with ad hominem??? Are you for real? Have you ever read the hate filled rhetoric that Democratic Underground.com propogates? Do you have a clue? Or did you just do a Google search for "The most anti-Bush website ever created" and then post an article from there? Here's some good quotes from that great source you provided. Talk to me about Ad Hominem when you know what the term means instead of throwing it out there like a race-card or a get-out-of-jail-free card.
| quote: | | "The only way to get rid of this slime bag WASP-Mafia, oil barron ridden cartel of a government, this assault on Americans and anything one could laughingly call "a democracy", relies heavily on what a shit hole Iraq turns into. They need to die so that we can be free. Soldiers usually did that directly--i.e., fight those invading and harming a country. This time they need to die in defense of a lie from a lying adminstration to show these ignorant, dumb Americans that Bush is incompetent. They need to die so that Americans get rid of this deadly scum. It is obscene, Barbie Bush, how other sons (of much nobler blood) have to die to save us from your Rosemary's Baby spawn and his ungodly cohorts." |
Here's a thread that was deleted from the site that I saved because I've seen that awful website before. It's from when Bush did the whole "Mission Accomplished" carrier landing thing:
http://www.democraticunderground.co...umID70/746.html
| quote: | Yuck!! have you heard how Bush will arrive on the carrier tonight? "He will arrive dramatially in a four-seat aircraft rather than the more typical marine helicopter." according to ABC News the Note. The White House is confident that such a dramatic arrival will guarantee more great film auch as when Bush addressed Fire Fighters and other rescue workers at Ground Zero after 9/11. I suppose the press will have one big collective orgasm tonight. Now if he wanted to be really dramatic he would fly that four-seat aircraft on deck himself since he is supposed to have been a pilot. I think I'll be checking out Gilligan while this absurdity is going on.
10. there is no chance.
have you forgotten? the son of god cannot die..geez i thought everyone knew that. i thought he would walk to the ship, can`t he walk on water?
18. He has no f***ing business doing that
If there's anything a president should know, it's that the office he occupies is far more important than he is, and he can't jeopardize it by risking his neck in some jackass PR stunt. God, I hate that idiot...
22. John F. Kerry, that's why.
Proves how scared they are of having to face a real veteran. They have to make W. do something as stupid and useless as this stunt. It's nice of shrub to stand man to man with America's soldiers, but he's 30 years too late. It's easy to do when you know no one will be shooting at you and your life's not at risk. And you are POTUS and every possible precaution is taken to make sure you don't get your stupid ass killed. It's absolutely pathetic that he is doing this.
I have one question: How much is this idiotic stunt costing American taxpayers? You know if Gore did it they'd have a full accounting complete with press conference.
2. They should play some rousing march music
Those old Nazi movies were really good propaganda and I'm sure Rove is studying them for tips on how to provide "atmosphere".
20. "Triumph of the Will"
If memory serves, this Riefenstahl docu about the Nuremberg Rally begins with a bird's-eye view as Hitler's plane descends into the city. Is this right?
7. I wonder how much it's costing...
you Americans to have 'dickhead' give a speech that will mean and say nothing from the deck of a carrier. The cost of organising such a blatantly empty propaganda piece must be staggering.
15. any chance the jet could miss the deck?
wishfull thinking on my part, won't be watching anyhow!
29. Technically, it will be Navy One and it isn't a fighter.
I imagine quite a few presidents have gone up into the cockpit of the ususal Air Force One. Everyone wants to sit in a cockpit, and when you got the power to make it happen, why wouldn't you? But I think it would be the first official time the Preisdent occupied the co-pilot seat for the duration of a flight. Which makes me wonder. If the President is the co-pilot, and the pilot suffers a medical emergancy, who's gonna fly the plane? W was drunk his entire time training for the Air Guard, and it is doubtful even if he learned anything 30 years ago, would be able to fly this plane today.
23. Skivvy check...
Hope there's some photos of the brown stain around Shrubbie's puckered ass!
27. LOOKIE! Me can do the militry stuff too! Not just Kerry!
This is all about John Kerry. Who needs veterans who actually served in the military when you've got smartasses who fly planes just for fun??? Now, if only someone will talk about George being AWOL!
33. Deus Ex Machina?
nah, that's probably too literary and erudite a reference for the Bushies, but it's exactly what came to my mind: the man who believes he is carrying out God's will is dropped from the heavens onto the aircraft carrier into the arms of mere mortal men who worship and adore him... |
Talk to me about Ad Hominem when you understand what it means. Here's a quarter, go buy a clue.
If this is the kind of website where you get your information, it's pretty obvious why you behave the way you do.

The specific Article I postested regarding the gassing sources and explains the disgusting and hypocritical stance of the US government that many pro-bush donkeys here fail to acknowledge.
You have attacked the source/website this article was coming from which therefore directly attacks who is writing it. whether it is either the author or the actual website, you disagreed with the content and analysis that was expressed becuase of your hatred for the site.
Heres a review lesson for you
| quote: | An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. Typically, this fallacy involves two steps. First, an attack against the character of person making the claim, her circumstances, or her actions is made (or the character, circumstances, or actions of the person reporting the claim). Second, this attack is taken to be evidence against the claim or argument the person in question is making (or presenting). This type of "argument" has the following form:
Person A makes claim X.
Person B makes an attack on person A.
Therefore A's claim is false.
The reason why an Ad Hominem (of any kind) is a fallacy is that the character, circumstances, or actions of a person do not (in most cases) have a bearing on the truth or falsity of the claim being made (or the quality of the argument being made).
Example of Ad Hominem
Bill: "I believe that abortion is morally wrong."
Dave: "Of course you would say that, you're a priest."
Bill: "What about the arguments I gave to support my position?"
Dave: "Those don't count. Like I said, you're a priest, so you have to say that abortion is wrong. Further, you are just a lackey to the Pope, so I can't believe what you say." |
If the Bush Admin had a valid argument for a specific claim they were making and backed it up with sources and proper analysis....then it would be foolsih for anyone to totally dismiss it becuase they think they are fucked.
