i'm buying a new car in the next two months and i've narrowed the choices to the scion tc and the civic ex coupe (my budget is under 20K).
which would you guys choose (if any)?
all thoughts/opinions/preferences are welcome
tC > civic
buy a tC. since your budget is around 20k, throw some rims and the aftermarket TRD supercharger option on it. arent the tCs around 16K base price out the door?

thanks for the reply -- the stock rims on the tc are pretty tight and the car comes ridiculously loaded so i dont know if i'd throw rims on it. the dealership guy told me the supercharger is coming out late in the spring and will run about $3,500 which puts me over my limit (i'm not only interested in performance tho -- if i were i'd scoop up a ralliart, srt-4 or a spec-v). the only immediate aftermarket addition i'd make would be the trd springs which would drop the car about an inch.
a comparably equipped civic winds up costing about a grand more so we're in the same ballpark. ($18.2 tc vs. $19.3 civic with fees).
i used to drive a honda many years ago and i liked it but the tc is pretty sweet...

ralliart, srt-4, and spec-v put you over your limit anyway so that wouldnt matter. just get a tC. more power, looks better. keep the stock rims and throw on the trd springs like you said. tint the windows too, that would look sweet. what color are you looking at getting?

driven the civic -- liked it a lot but it didn't feel as 'zippy' as the vtec 4-bangers usually do. i have yet to drive the tc but i've sat in one and poked around and it feels like a really solid car.

Id say go for the tC...its more updated...the civic is past its prime as far as features and such. If your going to buy a car dont get the one thats ready for a bodystyle change. You be kinda disappointed that the next years version is soo much nicer. On the other hand its not always the best to get a car that only been out a year. First run productions will usually have a few flaws to be worked out. Check out scionlife.com and ask around on pros and con on owning them. I havent heard too much as far as bad things though.
