No, they don't prowl a little quicker, they know what girls like.

And it's not about "i want to be liked for myself." That's fine, but nobody is going to want to get with anyone who perpetually picks their nose or is naturally boring. So don't look at it as something negative, think of it as self-improvement.

A nice guy is someone who is corteous(sp?) to girls, someone who laughs at their jokes, gives them a break, makes their lives easier by being ready to do anything in his power if they ask him, does the flowers/dinners/gifts shtick, councils them on their problems, and just treats them like a gentleman.

Which is what women don't want in a man, incidentally
