Actually, had this happen to me too... took it out to measure the length or my bar, whent back to work 1 hour later and put it back in then.
ONLY IT HAD REALLY STARTED TO HEAL OVER.
I couldn't force my acrylic bar through the hole in my tongue. I had to get my metal bar out and literally FORCE PUSH it through the hole in my tongue, bottom to top. That werked, but I clearly ripped through tissue that was reforming over the hole. It hurt a bit and it wasn't easy. I was bleeding afterwards too. (Funny, since I didn't bleed AT ALL when I got it done.)
Oh well, I'd do just about anything for my tongue ring. Love that pierce to the ends of heaven and hell and back. I'm strongly debating soon taking it out for a month so it can heal over sufficiently that I can get it re-pierced in almost the exact same spot, just over a tad bit (a mm or two) to the right. The bottom hole is lined up perfectly, so only would have to punch through a new hole in the top of my tongue.
God bless tongue rings, I LOVE THEM!
