Or, if you want it more clear.
What would you rather Have
Aria
or
514 productions
Clearly, Aria had its flaws and clearly the owner don't really address them, but at least he tries to get something going for his club.
514 production is obviously what brought the scene the the "mainstream" in Montreal, but they actually the reason why events have gone down in quality. Before 514 tried to book only big dj's event were something else, it was parties, with drag queens, people who would come to partie in costumes and things like that. and because of 514 it has now become Big dj, Big room, Big lights and people that are in are the one in charge of making the party.

Good point on Biggy. Try and find another club owner posting on forums filled with clubbers and giving them a heads up on a few things regarding the scene is rare. When i joined TA i was so down to see posts by Biggy & Louis regarding events @ aria and to interact with they're customers the way they do. Thats called building a relationship with your clients. On the other hand, i also know that they're is a bias on this forum for Aria, myself included.
On 514, i have no idea how the scene was before 514, i must have been like 14 before 514 started. All i know is that 514 gave me a lot of memorable nights that i will never forget. They lost their vision and focus, and thats only their fault. I think 514 will always be remembered for the great parties they have thrown in the past, they have definetly helped create that famous vibe in Montreal that out-of-towners, Big DJ's and many others love so much.
As for the Tiesto @ Circus, i think that Circus or Godskitchen or DKD or GEM or whoever the fuck organized the party messed up big time. The fact is, all their names are associated with the event. They all chose to do business together as a team and when u mess up as a team, the whole team gets the heat, not just one player.
The bouncers at Circus were assholes to say the least. Maybe they forgot what type of crowd goes to after hours (usually no violence, friendly peeps). They were ******s when they were kicking people out. The fact remains that Tiesto is very commercial and he will attract people who usually don;t go to these parties that are new to the scene which will lead to huge ticket sales. The party organizers fucked up big time by over selling. Maybe by 50-100 people is fine. Not by 200-300. I hope whatever that guy on ravemontreal is doing to action agaisnt them works. No way to treat people who worked hard for their cash and chose to (over)spend at your club.
Sorry for the crazy long post, i had to give my 2 cents.
