Just finished listening to both discs. I give CD1 7/10, it has several transitions that I found to be a bit awkward or too quick - I guess Markus tried to squeeze in more tracks into the 80 minutes. But overall - an okay disk.

I give CD2 9/10 - nice flow, flawless transitions, kicks off with an awesome tune by Ormatie never goes down from there. The thing I didn't like about it:
1. Doesn't give enough exposure to Algarve - Greaspaint, starts mixing into the next track almost immediately after track's build up
2. Instead of including the awesome Adymus Remix of Ambiosal - Sushift, Markus decided to put some lousy Arthur Schmidt Remix
3. The origial mix of Baltic Sound - Glimmer is 1000 times better than that Micah remix.

All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with this compilation. I found this one to be more melodic than Miami 05 and CH Sessions 2004, which is a plus.

The only thing that I think is killing Markus, is that when he spins live - he always tends to add 3-4 ASOT/TATW tunes that virtually all the trance djs have already hammered. And I mean shit like Direct Dizko (SvD Remix), Dave 202 - Generate the Wave, Re:Locate - Alcatraz, Katana - Plastic Fantastic, etc. I mean - WTF!!! Those tunes aren't even that great to begin with. I wish he would stick to the GDJB sound that we - Markus Schulz fans - love him for.

I have actually just relistened to the first disk and found it to be as enjoyable as the the second. So I take most of what I said before about disk one back

Agree with you 100% there. The original mix of Glimmer is a masterpiece.

I've noticed this aswell and it's a shame, add 'Mode Hookers - Breathe' and 'Dogzilla - Without You' to the list. Seen both of these in a recent live tracklist. Markus' GDJB sets are something special. Would love to see him play similar tracks live.

Hehe. This release has seen so many delays, the latest of which due to a muddled-up tracklist.

Anyhow, the TranceCritic review is finally up.

yikes

your review has yearzero as a top track?

it's prob the worst sounding piece of garbage iv ever heard!

I think Kenneth THomas' track Achem's Razor is the real winner, but really, im shocked because nearly any other track is better than yearzero...for someone who hates the armin style trance, its hard to believ you pick that track as a stand out.

I don't hate Armin-style trance. I find it annoyingly redundent.

Yet, you love the second disc, of which it is pretty much the peak track? Hnn. Go figure.

To tell you the truth, the more I listen to second disk now - the less I like it
As the matter of fact, I have skipped through like half of it the last time I gave it a listen.
Disc 1 is my favourite of the two at the moment.
