You're right that Sweden couldn't really depend the entire competition on Larsson if they wanted to go far. But we're talking about a player who just decided a Champions League final this season. He's old but still a great player who could be very useful to them. And I'm sure he'll retire from the national team now.

Missing an important penalty is something that happened to players like Platini, Roberto Baggio, or more recently Beckham and Riquelme. All are greats or remembered as greats, and I think Larsson is a part of this group.
