sure, if you know what you are doing.

it doesnt matter who gets booked to open if the opening dj is capable to change their style to suit the headliner. loco dice was very pleased with joe manzone's opening set so why cant you be?

That's ironic, considering that you're debating and might not be going to see her friday...

Where are you drawing this conclusion from?...

Wouldn't it be so much simpler and make more sense, to have a deejay that already suits the headliner to open for them? Instead of 'imitating' and 'trying' to change sound...Just because Joe played some similar stuff does not mean he is capable of playing that style...anyone can just pick random minimal tracks and play them...as Milos stated.

Your gripe is with Jose/Talal, and the argument is misguided towards M&S / the scene as it is NOW, and TiL clientele.

Inadvertently, your picture thread was one of the variables to this here. Whether you believe it or not. They are labelled in the way of how some of your pics showcase the people and the events.

Too me, first and foremost M&S will always be those mofo bad ass DJ's that play late at night at Comfort Zone.

Of course it's directed towards them, where did I say it wasn't?

It's not ironic because lately I have not been as much of a "superfan" as years prior - but 6 months ago I would have gone to hear her anywhere in this city.

Damn, if Burridge is gonna play a fromage club like TiL. Next time please make it for Dragonfly. Every time I've gone to see a headliner there I've played poker at the casino and won $500-600. Book him at Dragonfly so I can get my lapdances at Sundowners and Seductions as well.

no you're right, I was referring to the now topic at hand in this thread... "Til doesn't book the opening dj's I want, so it's M&S's fault." WTF lol

Chris, I feel your pain. But you're hardly in a position to be advising Jose/ Talal on anything. Something tells me what they're doing at the moment is working for them. lol

edit: (in this specific case, I imagine that M&S are opening for their draw, not their diversity. A formula which is obviously making TiL lots of cash)

or derrick carters... or k-swings

i'm not trying to take shots at M&S here jon. my point is, there is talent in toronto better suited for the gigs. i feel as though its taking away SO much from the scene. not to mention feeling shortchanged as a clubber having to hear the same dj's every time. where's the variety? what happened to putting music first?
