I saw this a couple times, and i can't help but think of how ass back wards it is. It about howe serious you take your "girl" to me. Not being to the same scene is dope. You get your weekends to yourself if you want them, you get to do whatever you want see, I hate "clingy". and something about being gone partying without them all weekend somehow just makes them want to cook you diner that much more during the week. awesome!

mind you if it was the "one" you're looking for the scene would be key. hearing "i hate that sound" one too many times makes me want to snap, "like bitch i hear that a thousand times, you knew i was into this shit 6 months ago!" lol. always felt it would be killer though to be able to just take your girl to a night of pure dnb and just dance your ass off together in sync for a bit to forget the past work-week. or just hit a funk night in the middle of the week and go nuts.
but for the... "just a chick"... different scene = awesome

I hope you're not quoting me in advocating the notion of "importance of scene." The only reason I said that was because it would appear to me that this is the logic people are going by - those who do place such high emphasis on music, and their "scene" in particular.

and if you read the rest of my post, you'll see just how far I stand in contrast to this idea.

although the topic question has crossed my mind...I can never imagine being like some of you in this thread: exclusive to "one scene" to a point where it dictates your social life entirely.

to each his/her own though.

I could care less what my gf listens to - I probably listen to hip-hop just as much, if not more than EDM...followed closely by rock music.

I have more important things in life to focus on than the music "scene" I belong to. But like I said: to each his/her own...

Quite a number of your friends who party are in relationships with partiers. We are all examples that you need to find the right one. And a good match can be very complementary.

It is not so much about the scene for me as it is the idea of sharing things I love with my partner. I think we all know I am a bit of an excitable person and I love being able to share that excitement with Bobby.

I completely agree....and I think for me, it also applies to my relationships with friends. I love my friends who aren't into the same music as me but I feel an additional bond with those that can understand, and share, my excitement for the scene...

That's one of the things I love about Sarah. Even though she doesn't like the music... When I am really excited to see someone play, no mix comes out, a new vinyl I really want...she is excited and happy for me too.

lol at the number of people distinguishing liking the same music from being into "the scene"

non-euphimistic version = I want to date someone who likes deadmau5 too but doesn't do drugs and then talk to the wall

my definition of "being into the scene" involves actually going out to see and support djs... not simply listening to edm every once in a while.....

talking to walls=abusing the scene
