I never see those.
Not that it's necessary, but i wonder why trance seems to get all the bash threads and other genres, like techno, house, electro, hardcore, drum & bass, minimal, etc. seldomly get the shaft... |

you obviously haven't payed enough attention. I've seen minimal and stuff being just as bashed as trance.
I personally think that most minimal stuff is a farse. It's an even bigger pile of shit than ASOT-drenched shit. |
You're right but I think Barachem meant that trance gets bashed compared to earlier trance. Minimal and stuff get bashed because people don't like it, but not because they compared it to earlier tracks.
Trance started in the begin 90's changed a lot in 10 years time, mainly because of technology and influences of other genres. Now the technology has reached a certain level that nothing really new is appearing. In a way we maybe got spoiled by the diversity and quick evolotion of trance in the 90's.
I really like about 10%-20% of the current stuff, but looking at the hundreds of cd's and maxi's I bought in the 90's, back then it also was just about 10%-20%.
So I can fully understand people who loved trance of the late 90's don't like todays trance. I think I'm just lucky my taste is equal to many of todays producers, which maybe by coincidence have the same age as I and experience all changes in the more or less same way.
To me minimal, drum&bass and jungle miss some key elements why I like EDM. I guess many feel this way. Probably the same reason why e.g. underworld, chemical brothers, orbital became popular through (rock)festivals instead of clubs like house, techno and trance. Minimal and Jungle appeared at festivals, but not a lot in clubs, at least in my area this was the case.
