Can anyone that didn't understand the storyline explain what they had trouble following?

Saw it yesterday. It was bad but not terrible.
Basically the movie went like:
1) Crap talk about politics or feelings
2) Action scene
3) Random sex or rape scene
4) Random Nena soundtrack that made me go
5) Repeat for too long.
I actually think it's a good thing that it tries to have a deeper-than-Michael-Bay plot with a point, but it just fails. Maybe 5/10.

saw the movie last night. it was decent but forgettable. sooo much media hype for a film based on a comic book that pretty much no one read. and @ bas "I've never seen a comic to movie adaptation stay so true to the source" sin city and 300 were done pretty much word for word/scene for scene by the books.

Yeah that's true, but from what I've read Sin City doesn't have nearly as complex a storyline as The Watchmen. I think being able to pull off the Watchmen in movie form takes a lot more effort than Sin City.
And 300's storyline could have been recreated with zero knowledge of the original book

true, watchmen was more complex i think. then again sin city was a collection of stories kinda slapped together.. meh.

I never read Watchmen and had no problem following what was going on in the movie.
