I get that people have life's necessities they have to pay for, but I honestly don't understand why more people don't make it a priority to aggressively pay down debt(s). If I paid my debt on the bank's terms, I would have essentially given them an extra 18 thousand some odd dollars to borrow 50 thousand. No fucking thank you!

Which is why I'm paying my loan down (when I finish school) weekly. I'm shave a good 2-3 years off doing that. Honestly I don't understand why people don't pay off their loans weekly.

because you can reduce your loan by about 10% each year if you claim and have some evidence that you cannot afford to make the payments. Numbers are easy to fudge. Does not hurt your credit record. Same reason why you always go for the maximum at least in Canada as they reduce it automatically.

The guy that takes out 30 000 pays the same amount back compared to the jerk that took 50 000. More or less.

Got my tax refund yesterday - used up the last of my tuition credits and got nearly 3 grand back. Put the majority of it back in the bank/towards my debt...and although it would have been much more fun to spend all of it on myself, it definitely feels way more settling to shave a couple months off my repayment schedule. Can't wait til the end of 2014. I'm gonna take all my friends out to celebrate having all of my money for myself again.

Gonna suck not having tuition credits anymore though. :/
