i heard a lot of nasty shit from the raids, to arrests, to people getting mugged at gunpoint, to girls getting raped.
i off the bpm boat. i'll stick to shows in countries where i feel safe.
bpm a few years ago im sure would of been awesome, even last year, but it just got too popular. too much money in town brings that element of crime. just the way it is.

I stayed all the way to end of Innervisions show. Left walked out no problem didn't see anything go down. A couple ran into some problems though. If you can read Spanish check this article from Innervisions night. I'm pretty sure that is why Social party got canceled.
Edit: Short part of article.. Festival druggies said they were being fallowed by European assassins and abandoned their car and ran in the woods. The guy said he buried his girlfriend out there but in reality she is alive and at the hospital. Lots of money spent on the search and helicopter. Fake molly
Talk I guess is BPM might get moved to Alcupolco

It did get raided damn at 8:30am though. Party ended at 7am WTF! Glad I didn't see any of that shit go down and left quickly.
Edit: It says the raid was at Punta Venado which is down the dirt road but before Blue Venado. Anyway crazy shit!

Despite a bunch of a good parties, I've heard the same about the criminal element in the area. Lots of unfortunate stories this year.
Honestly, I'm not so sure that would deter me from attending in the future. Not to justify crime, but a lot of people put themselves in vulnerable positions through sheer stupidity. I've never had an issue in any of the many countries I've traveled in and through. Be smart, stay aware, use common sense.
That said, everyone should feel safe at an event like this. Mexico or not.
Also, I don't get what moving it to Acapulco would accomplish. It's a huge city (saturated with tourists) with an even bigger crime element.

BPM isn't moving anywhere, people just like to make stuff up I guess.
I personally didn't hear of anything bad happen to anyone I knew. the main issue was so many people this year that a few parties were just too full. We hated Paradise at Blue Venado and skipped Innervisions due to that. Friday night all venues were slammed with lines/occupancy holds. I think a lot of people came down just for the last weekend so it was the busiest then.
Innervisions and Solomun +1 were my favorite parties. Many of the parties were crowded. That Blue Venado venue is cool but have to find a good spot and stay all night which sucks.

Just imagine how bad it was last year when their were only 4 venues going each night. They really need to expand and also make Blue Venado more accessible with trams that leave every 30 mins or so. Would like to go back next year if they expand everything.

BPM has always been shady....that's part of the reason it's good. This kind of shit has always happened. I've been going for years and this year was no different. Just more rookies who are shocked when they hear cops bribing tourists when it comes to drugs.
Acapulco....you crazy? That's where the real cartel who isn't afraid to spray down a club with bullets.

actually last year it wasn't as crowded as there weren't as many people going. It has grown quickly and exponentially.
They are capped out - they can't grow anymore - this is basically it minus a tweak or two.
the shuttle from what i heard only held 14 people and ran every 20 minutes. borderline pointless to wait for that. we took a taxi for 100 pesos ($7 or so) a person to get there...and $20 a person back
