No, there wasn't some crazy ass conspiracy to bring any mainstream artists to EDC. That's why Will.I.Am wasn't a headliner, just an opener.
No, Insomniac didn't ask Lil Jon to come back the next day to hip hop it up. It was a pretty unexpected thing that was pretty cool, like it or not. If you have offense with Lil Jon, there are probably hundreds of others there that didn't.
No, trance stuff wont help. It had the smallest stage at EDC and also the smallest crowd in that smallest stage. Even that is still larger than most trance club events. Insomniac isn't plotting to kill trance, they just know most people going to massives aren't going for trance anymore. See the electro/hipster stage. It gets larger every year, as well as the crowd. If the trance stage at EDC was overflowing with people clamoring to get in, then yes, you would have a valid point. Just be happy that Insomniac respects all genres enough to bring out good people like Gareth and Christopher.
People will go to the coliseium no matter who is playing, so even if they put CL there, it wouldn't have made any difference really, except have more people that are fans of trance complain that CL should have been on the side stage away from all the crazy ravers.
Bottom line: Just enjoy yourself and stop whining. You don't see me complaining every day that breaks/breakbeat isn't all over clubs anymore, even though its my favorite genre. |
