Here's what happened, some black dude wanted to exchange or refund his units. Of course this won't be happening, all these phones are imported from Asia & it's not Corp store of Canadian carrier. So the black dude came back & shot one of the owner, Daniel Cheong.

RIP Daniel

I just found out that I knew this guy... he sold me my Samsung D900 .. geez RIP

Given that so much of the news about 6.5 talks about how it's nothing more than a skin over the same WinMo we all know and mostly despise, I don't think I really need to use it.

In response to the rapid increase in multimedia and ubiquitous traffic, DOCOMO is developing technologies for Long Term Evolution (LTE), or Super 3G, an advanced version of 3G that will serve as the stepping stone to 4G (IMT-Advanced). Using current and planned new 3G spectrum bands, Super 3G (LTE) will enable high-speed transmissions of up to 300 Mbps (megabits per second) in downlink, a major advance in the evolution of mobile systems. It will also cut down significantly on control and transmission delays, thereby helping to ensure the long-term competitiveness of the system.

One of the main characteristics of Super3G (LTE) is its dramatically improved data transmission rates, the goal being downlink at up to 300 Mbps and uplink at up to 75 Mbps, as agreed upon by the 3G Partnership Project (3GPP). A related characteristic is reduced delays thanks to shorter frame and simple protocol in the evolved air-interface and network architecture. In fact, latency is expected to be less than 100 msec for call setup and to be less than 5 msec in radio access network (RAN) during data transfer. Another key characteristic is significant improvement on spectrum efficiency. The ambitious targets for user throughput and spectrum efficiency are between two and four times those of HSPA.

Although Super3G (LTE) will use the existing 3G spectrum, advanced new technologies incorporated in its radio access system will enable for significantly improved performance. One such technology is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which transmits high-speed data using numerous multiple sub-carriers in parallel, a method especially suited to areas with multipath propagation, such as urban environments. Another key technology is multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), which uses multiple transmission and reception antennas on the same frequency to create different data streams that are multiplexed spatially. Radio access networks will use simple architecture for low latency and low-cost network construction. The core networks of Super3G (LTE) radio access will be all-IP networks, which eventually could be configured to smoothly accommodate more advanced 4G (IMT-Advanced) radio access systems someday.

The 3GPP is devising standardized specifications for Super3G (LTE), with DOCOMO's aggressive activities playing a key role in the process. In conjunction with significant advances in the standardization of the LTE RAN, DOCOMO began developing experimental equipment in July 2006. Following the construction of a prototype Super3G (LTE) experimental equipment, indoor and field trials began in July 2007 and February 2008, respectively, and resulted in the achievement of up to 250 Mbps in downlink. Future tests will evaluate transmissions in typical operating environments. Development of commercial equipment, which will be carried out in parallel with the evaluation of the prototype equipment, is targeted for completion by the end of 2009.

Hmmmmmm .... Japan's Super3G is beyond our 4G LTE & it moves 300mbs/sec. Wonder how fast their 4G IMT Advance will be for in the future?

Completely agree. At this point in the game, the leaks are so true to life that we an honestly start to believe them. Plus, given that it is six POINT five, not seven, we know it is only an evolution of the last incarnation, not a rebirth. Which means it is built on the same broken platform.

What ever improvements MS makes, are just improvements, but being built on a POS, it is not hard to improve over themselves. Improvements over competitors has yet to be seen.

Sure, we're still anticipating -- but not necessarily merrily -- the release of Windows Mobile 6.5, but for those who wish to look even farther into the future, Microsoft head honcho Steve Ballmer said in a conference call this week that WinMo 7 will be out sometime next year. That jibes pretty well with what we've heard from Motorola and ZDNet before, although there's probably a dozen or so known unknowns that could push it well into 2011 or beyond. For now, however, we're willing to take Steve at his word. Hey, at least they're not gearing up for a Windows Mobile 6.75 in the interim... right?

Obama's proposed 2010 budget juices carriers for more cash

There's no easy answer to erasing a staggering trillion-plus dollar deficit in a federal budget, but you've got to start somewhere -- and Obama's looking at the nation's wireless carriers as cash cows just waiting to be milked. The President's proposed budget for 2010 calls for an increase in spectrum license user fees from $50 million to $200 million, with further increases to $550 million over the course of the next decade, all of which would be on top of the billions carriers have already shelled out in spectrum auctions. A good way to bring in some extra cash? Yeah, probably, but considering that carriers will be more than happy to pass the increases on to consumers, let's just be straight: it's a tax

We cant even get mobile devices to sync properly across two OSs, yeah right that kind of future is anywhere close to reality.

well with the Eye-fi cards, and them integrating with devices such as the microsoft surface combined with RFID-like technology, this should be possible in the next 10 years...(if not sooner...also depending on production costs)

Yes you can. Use Microsoft Mesh. It syncs files across WinMo, Vista and XP.

OMG. Dude, enough with the Microsoft promo play book. Wow sync a mobile device across all WINDOWS OSes! How amazing!

I was talking about syncing devices across windows/os x/linux... My point was that hardware manufacturers, and software developers cannot get products to play nice, so that vision in the video is very far off.

Unless companies start co-developing standard interfaces and IDEs, that dream will not be realised. The simple fact that MS has come out with silverlight, and is trying to compete with other open document formats, gives us a very clear indication of how they feel about cooperation.
