Im downloading session 9 now man...should be a good one judging by the responses. I was just curious as to how you go about finding all these obscure but quality tracks? My only source for music like this is EDM digital. Got any suggestions? |
You gotta take into consideration my fascination for music. I mean, producing my own tracks is only a couple of months away for me now. But for the time being I have to search and search for great music. EDM digital does have a lot of stuff, I'm a huge advocate for tracks on there. I listen to every song weekly from all record shops, and the best ones are the ones I've never heard of. Just a hint for anyone DJing, don't look over anything, because the really great track is by an artist that you've never heard of, or never gave the time out to do listen to.
I wish I had the time to make mix after mix, but I can't. I'm sitting on so many great tracks at the moment, they need to be compiled and mixed. I have about 30 tracks at the moment that haven't been put into compilations yet, and 3 are from the TA amateur section. The key to finding good music again though is to listen to everything, whether it be from other sets, recommendations, songs you've never heard, or just simply 'googling' types of genres all day, or even search Amazon.com's selection of obscure stuff. I even get ideas of artists through movies/soundtracks and such. So moral is, never limit yourself to music, its amazing how much out there is waiting to be discovered, and even more amazing how much has been, and you haven't picked up on it yet.
Thanks guys for the support.
-Steve
