The only vinyl I buy is old school techno. I don't buy anything else. Vinyl has gotten ridiculusly expensive, and I might only play a track once or twice. I already paid my dues with vinyl and it's time for me to move on. I use Serato Scratch Live with REAL VINYL. It feels exactly the same as vinyl cuz it is vinyl. Plus, I don't have to worry about scratching my record or it getting warped.
And as to Curly's statement about EVERYONE CAN GET THE MP3, not necessarily true. MP3's can be as hard to get as vinyl, if not even harder. Not everyone sells their mp3's or makes the public. I have some promo MP3s that were given specifically to me that if I make them public, people would know it came from me. MP3's also let you play the music upfront! Shoot, there's been times when a friend made a mash up in the morning, and I'd play the same day. Plus, it's a lot cheaper!
