Again, being a laid back and generally good natured person is pretty much associated with being a pushover or a wuss. What i am saying is that it's not so.

^ That may be how YOU define a "nice guy", and I'd imagine that's what women really mean most of the time when they say they like nice guys, but when people say "nice guys finish last" or "they always fall for the assholes and ignore the nice guys", they are usually using the definition that Cal posted.

That should be how 'nice guys' are portrayed, but unfortunately it's not. What Cal posted is a more 'mainstream' definition of the term.

All that really matters is that YOU know which of the two you are, fuck everyone else.

thanks for taking the time to correct my grammar mistake, which is, - BTW - by way of an example, part of my argument and hence 'legit' in this case. that's exactly the point i'm trying to prove since the term 'nice' can be & is being used for anything and anybody in our every day language B/C there seems to be a misunderstanding/ misconception by both genders of what it actually means for a guy to be NICE.

oh yea...and one last thought: there's different degrees of 'nice-ness'. overbearing nice-ness makes me wanna barf; it's too much. i have to start thinking about the 'second agenda' and the return-of-favour-expectations.

being nice means being genuine!

know yourself & respect yourself then being nice is not such a hard thing to do & to receive!

Oh ok now were getting somewhere, its finally clear what a nice guy means for us.

Your definition of "nice guy" is pretty close to my definition of man," which is what every guy that wants to get with the ladies should strive to be. But I'll leave you with this:

1. DOMINANCE
2. CONFIDENCE
3. HUMOUR
4. LOOKS

These four traits determine how you affect the ladies.
Score low in the top three, and you're just not as interesting to the girl.
So when you "respect" the girl by asking what she wants to do for your date, you dip in your dominance and confidence levels in her eyes, and she thinks less of you.
When you "respect" her feelings and try to work them out with her, you again score low, and she starts thinking of you more like a girlfriend of hers than a potential mate.

Just a couple of thoughts to maybe think about what "respect" is, and what things are needed to be done to "make her feel good."
