See, I laugh at people treading on their stumps, but that is because of two reasons.
1) I played with feet nailed to the pitch
2) The ball kept hitting them before I could step on them
hehe, my brother bowls at the low 80s on a back garden with plenty of bumps in it, i'm forever moving out of the way in whatever direction I can
As it happens, it was a good game that could've gone either way, that's what we should have, what's the point in thrashings etc when u can have edge of the seats drama.

we had that against bangladesh, we never went down past 3 wickets, so flintoff, Jones etc never even had a chance, we played a spinner in both games who got to bowl 1 over & not bat, no wonder he looked bored

its true.... great snap.. pity about the loss for the aussies.
i foudn it interesting the slant the aussie media took this morning in the papers. (i didnt see the dismissal or read the article) but it said in the herald sun - "but was he really out..."
what was that about??

there's debate about whether or not the glove was on the bat at the time, but i've seen commentary on 2 channels, and even darren lehman said 'oh no thats out' so if current players can think things are out, its easy to see how the gen public can

Great match. No-one can deny that. I think it's a bit of a reality check for us after the first test whitewash. Could have been different if it wasn't for McGrath's mishap but that's life and one man doesn't make a team. As a team England are on the way up and we are an ageing side. Bring on the third test.

hehe, although if mcgrath was playing and he was in with lee for the last wicket i doubt we would have lasted as long as we did haha :P
that's true though, we are definatly an aging side, unless some new guys start coming through, right now apart from clarky and lee not much youth, england on the other hand is the opposite i think, oh well all countries go through there ups and downs, look at west indies now compared to what they used to be when ambrose and walsh etc: were at their prime.
im not sure whether it is just me but do any of you pommies think the captaincy of england is a curse?!? i mean from my memory atherton and nasser didnt have the best time of it in regards to batting when they took on the captaincy and now it is a similar issue with vaughn (well recently) . maybe england should have no captain then everybody can bat at the prime
