I strongly disagree with this satement. Every single person I talked to last weekend had nothing but positive things to say about to say about the show, sound, club, vibe etc.
We always try to listen to suggestions on how we can improve the night... some of you may have already noticed the changes in lighting, visuals, sound quality, even the design of the new flyer. Also, bringing in international DJ definitely adds to the vibe at Cyber! People are stoked to see the DJ playing... which in turn results in more people attending, and a better vibe..
As for the local nights, most of them have been fairly slow considering Cyber is a new club. Almost every person in attendance always has positive things to say about the music, which is why they are there in the first place.
Haha I could go on all night here, but let's try to keep things positive. This is the only place in Vancouver you're goign to hear this type of music and be able to see DJs (International & local) in an intimate environment with quality sound and lighting, while still being able to enjoy a drink. |
Danny i agree 100% with your reply...your set really got the crowd going and CYBER has a great vibe to it, plus it has loads of potential for more(as a venue)..we have talked about it many times and what might come along in the future. UNION NIGHTS are about the crowd and u guys, it never lacks spirit and heart...THNX and keep it up

Whoa this is a long one but let me explain.
Danny, thanks for the reply. I trust you know that my comments were not directed at you at all as we've talked separately on different occasions.
For what Cyber is (the only night playing trance in Vancouver) it's great for the cause but also has lots more potential. There have been technical and aesthetic improvements for sure. Visuals for Andy were good (much improved and necessary) though the lazers werer still going a little too crazy and the smoke machine is a choking hazard! I don't smoke so I guess they're worse for me. But this isn't really what I'm referring to. I guess I'm disappointed that I haven't really had fun when I've been there (3 times). A shame for a trance loving girl.
A vibe, something intangible, a general feeling or impression that is left with one from spending time (what is supposed to be a good time of course) in a space. Friendly, happy, warm, and welcoming or creepy, sketchy, cold, greedy, stand-offish. Every club has it's nights I know and who knows if it can even be helped. I think the people that are attracted to certain nights make up a huge part of the vibe (so I guess this would be promoting). Everyone WAS going nuts at Andy and the crowd that he attracted made this. Anyway, after all, I am a female and so I guess I'm more sensitive to "vibes", feelings and what not. I'm also incredibly picky and have high standards (so whatever!) but if I'm saying this then perhaps other ladies might think and feel this too and for a club it's key to attract the ladies right?
Yes, drink specials (aka more people drunker) would help the vibe but the cash only bar - well that's just ~ not good/creepy ~ Also more selection of booze needed! I know that's not you guys either so who knows.
I agree with Krys; those guard rails only encourage people to stand on the side lines and not dance, but gawk. The black paint, well its okay but something does need to be softened up in there. Anyway, Danny, again comments not directed at you and I know there's only so much you can do to the club. The music is great all around and perhaps everything will just fall in place in time. Have fun guys! Cheers.
