yea i agree with a lot of what you're saying too. i definitely won't be forbidding my kids to do anything because that usually just makes them want to rebel. the only thing i'm going to be strict about is school.

also, u guys are confusing "private schools" with same sex schools. yea, i knew a ton of rich spoiled pothead kids who went to private catholic schools too. i think there's a bit of a difference with the same sex ones. there's just not that distraction of the opposite sex at a place for learning and i think that's important. all that stuff is for the weekends, which i wont have a problem with, but at the same time, there will be ground rules n stuff.

ideally, i'd like my husband and me to be the parents who are pretty easy going and laid back, and i will definitely be the "party house", meaning my kids can throw parties whenever, or have sleepovers whenever, as long as i'm there, but i'll be in my room with my husband to give them privacy...stuff like that.

I dont understand this mentality. Don't you trust that if your children are intelligent and you teach them to make good decisions, and to appreciate what they have so they dont become spoiled and irresponible that they will have better judgement in life than those who are sheltered (I know you said you aren't going to shelter them, but for lack of a better word I'll say 'sheltered') and will probably go do the 'wrong' thing to the extreme because of it?
