So..
Someone messaged me to ask for my opinion on this, and if could please post here. Ok, I guess. Wasn't at the event, and haven't read through all 14 pages. We aren't part of Twisted, nor are we "competitors" with them. Definitely respect everything they've acheived.
But, here goes
- Twisted is not out to screw you
- Venues have more control then you think
- There is no where else they can do events like this
- Commodore is not available
- Ticket prices are that much because the artist costs huge $ on a weekend, and because its mainstream now
- The quality of crowds historically is always tied to ticket price.. the higher/bigger the show, the more mainstream people will be there and they tend to not be accepted by the "true" scene people
- Most people that go to these shows are there because they want to have fun, they aren't going to try and piss you off. So cut them some slack if they want to get a bit stupid sometimes.
- There are plenty of underground-focused events that would love to have more of your support, and you would love them, so keep an eye out for non top 10 trance dj's
- If AVB wasnt on the same night as Sasha, it would have been most of the same crowd. They just tend to go to the big events
- In every single city, mainstream events happen, with similar effects
In the end, the biggest power you have is not attending the event. Twisted isn't forcing you to go the event. Not to be blunt, but sll this chatting on here won't have much effect. If you want change, make it yourself, support the smaller events that suit your needs, or just stay at home. Believe me, Azim and Twisted do love Trance and would love to do some of the events you talk about, but no one supports these shows usually. Times are tough right now in this city, so its time for each of you to make a mark in your own way to help push it forward.
