Sure, in regards to maximizing draw, M&S are the best choice. But, I think Chris means it would make more sense musically if they had a techno headliner opening for a techno DJ.
Chris is expressing his preference as a customer of This is London. He is not advising management on what DJs to book. In discussions about opening DJs, clubbers like Chris only care about how the opening DJ compliments the main act. They do not care if booking another DJ is a smarter business decision, nor should they care. They are the customers and therefore care about value. They are not owners of the business, so they do not care about revenue (ie. draw).
The fact that booking a certain DJ is a smart business decision is not a sufficient reason why clubbers should cease to continue complaining about the decision, or like the decision.
