well when biggio retires, he gets an automatic invitation to the HOF for the amount of times he got hit by a pitch. i think he holds the #1 spot for most times hit by pitch. the amazing part is the small amount of times he has charged the mound for it.

don't count out Toronto, they have been slowly climbing as well.

well I said those inspired words abotu the Yankees after they had that 9 game winning streak, but then they went on a 1-6 road trip and are still well back of both the Al East and Wild Card races. The odds makers have the Yanks at 20-1 at winning the World Series. That's a bit of a stretch I think.

Detroit and Boston (and maybe Cleveland or LA) are looking too good from the AL for anyone else, including Toronto.

The All-Star Game losing streak continues for the NL
It seems that Tony La Russa must've already been boozed up when he decided not to pinch-hit Pujols in the 9th

Maybe I listen to too much sports talk radio (in addition what I watch on tv), but gosh, how much more talk is there going to be about whether or not A-Rod will opt out of his contract? Seriously sounding like a broken record.
It would be funny if he opts out, but the highest offer he gets is smaller than his current contract.

I would like Arod to stay since he is proving to be the best offensive player of the last few seasons and he seems to be growing more comfortable in New York. The fans are behind him now (yes I know we Yankee fans are fickle), the media is laying off somewhat...why opt out and try to get more money? He said he's not about the money but if he goes into FA and his salary ends up being over 30 million from the Angles, Dodgers, or whoever...he comes across as a greedy pig.

But then part of me says that if he goes, the Yankees can use the money for more pitching and to after some younger bats. I won't be surprised if the Yankees make a run but I don't expect them to make the playoffs. I don't expect the Red Sox to win the WS either...they're starting to show some weaknesses.

i really do hope Bonds will go homerless the rest of the year(which is probably very unlikely). i think the most outstanding stat about Aaron that Bonds will never bypsass are Aaron's all-time rankings in hits, # of total bases, rbis, and # of extra base hits. Even though Aaron has a mark in a power category, he has enough stats to show he was a smart hitter who knew how to get on base, and help his team get a mark in the Win column.

I hope Bonds will break it soon because all this talk about him just annoys me. And than all this "of course we will go to each and every bat of Barry Bonds".

if he didn't break the record till september, will FOX & ESPN go to Barry's bats even in a close Red Sox vs Yankees pennant race game in the 9th inning?

btw guys plz congratulate me for purchasing MLB.TV on the weekend.

you know what i like to see in october? i want to see Toronto win the AL Wild card, Seattle win the AL West, Milwaukee win the NL Central, and Colorado win the NL West. it may be possible, but i want to see something new in the top of the baseball totem pole. it's gotta be old seeing the yanks, sauwcks ,mets, braves, and cardinals always making it.

but pretty surprising the past 2 world series champs, cards and white sox, are really struggling to find an identity.

^^^ well I"m biased but I want another close Yankees Red Sox race the next two months (and we might just get it if the Yankees can keep it up). I can't stand the current Jays team and have never liked them anyway but it would be good to see the Brewers and Indians in the playoffs again.
