didn't the rate for violence skyrocket in Australia after the gun ban?
I don't remember if it was incidents involving guns, or just criminal behavior in general, but i remember that the gun ban definitely had an inverse effect of its intent.

I have a hard time imagining a world where you have to be afraid of guns. To go to campus and to be afraid that some lunatic goes postal just doesn't exist in my world. I consider myself very lucky of this. We just don't have the same gun problem as in the US. I remember that Moore made me think why America had this gun problem when Canada didn't have it, even with basically the same gun laws. It must be something in the American society, maybe a worked up fear (by the media?) of your fellow citizen that you need a gun to defend yourself.

RIP to all people who died needlessly this day.

I agree wholeheartedly with everything you've posted, I just don't think it would hurt to make weapons less freely available as well.
